Which number is the vin number on the C series you posted?

Would it be the S.O. number on the bottom right?

1968 dash, Tin looks fantastic for a sweptline era truck., 361 is great too.
C-series are the swing out fender style with the older style cab like the one pictured above with the van body.

So, the serial number is on it's own tag and not on the ratings tag then as it appears.

Why would that be?  I know, no answer for that.

Interesting.

Thanks runcharger for pointing that out.  I can totally see the difference in the fenders now.  I did not see that before.

So, are there B series and C series trucks in corresponding years?

The metal on the truck is amazing as there really is none.

The other 5 that I can purchase are also in great shape.  But they are earlier models and I am unsure if the parts interchange.

It appears that the side windows and front window are the same.  The rear window is much bigger on the 68 than the earlier years.

the VIN on your "fender tag" is upper left -

according to the truck decoder site - you should also have a VIN tag in the door jamb like the blue/white Las Vegas C500 pictured

yes, C500 & D500 trucks were produced in the same years

RUNCHARGER

Yes: Dodge made both the C and D series at the same time from maybe the late 50's I think until they quit making medium and large trucks in the mid 70's. Not sure why they made the 2 different series, the C-series were a more serious truck and went up to 1000 but I think the D-series were made up to a 700 or 800 series. I suspect a C-500 cost more than a D500. The swing fenders were desirable for ease of maintenance and also the Bumper to Back of Cab measurement was less so they could turn tighter in city delivery applications.

I believe the cab on your D500 is the same as a 1968-1971 pick-up - the glass should be the same also

VS the C=series (C500) where the cap is different compared to pick-ups & the front fenders "OPEN" (hinged at the radiator support) for engine access   :takealook:

Wow!  Now that is cool.   That access would be very nice.

I wonder why I have not ran across any of the C series out in the land of sand.
Farmers, cheap, D's work just fine.  s

Thanks for the notion that the standard trucks should be the same glass and parts.

And thanks for all the info.  Much needed and appreciated.

Actually, now that yal have mentioned the differences I looked through some more previous pics and I have found one out here.

I just didn't realize what I was looking at.   Different yard, different owner, different finding time period.

No rust on this one either.
