Hi all,
Google just notified me that UOrigin ad blocker is " no longer supported" Shame as it worked great for years. I assume this is in attempt to get people to pay somehow to not get  hammered with ads?

Bullitt-

I ran across that a few months ago when looking for another add blocker extension for Firefox & Chrome on my PC....however uBlock Origin Lite is still supported for Chrome browser and it works better than what I had.

original appears to still be available for Firefox

Free Lite on Chrome wed store

UOrigin has been the defacto standard for years.  Since Chrome's dropping it, I'm dropping Chrome and moving to Firefox. Ghostery is decent too if you want to stick with Chrome.  I'm not sure if they're on Googles hit list yet though.

I still us uBlock Origin on my PC with Edge (which is Chrome based). Works well.
I also use Edge on my Android phone, but don't have a good add blocker. So interested what others are doing.

I ditched all the regular browsers and went with Brave. Has worked flawlessly for a couple years now. Everything is integrated into it and it blocks all adds, even Youtube commercials. I'm using it on a Macbook.

As @Deezel said, BRAVE search engine is the ONLY WAY TO GO FOR ME! I listen to a lot of podcasts and Brave blocks all commercials and ads and doesn't appear to track me like the woke crap that's been the standard for years on my devices. I'm using it on my laptop as I skim over the forum and reply to this thread. I'll never use that G word again. Fuggem.

IMO...ya, I know what they say about those..lol...you should still use a vpn. Your browsing experience changes depending what country you are supposedly originating from.

I should also mention that simply clearing your cache will often do wonders for whatever web browser you use. Quite often, apps that are no longer supported will continue to work just fine by doing this.
I know I have to clear the cache on Brave about every 3 months or popups saying ad blockers are not allowed start finding their way through again.

The original uBlock Origin was still working on my PC until noon today. I just added uBlock Origin Lite (mostly from Bullitt's post - thanks). We'll see how how satisfactory it'll be as time goes on.

Second that, Brave is great, especially the for the YouTube ads, I have one problem with it and I can get it out of dark mode. Using Mac.

Mine works fine. It's in the Settings tab, then Appearance, then Brave colors. I have mine set to same as MacOS. I tried both light and dark modes and it worked perfectly.
