Opinions ? Custom drive shaft or oem 727 ?

Hi everyone so I'm adding a 844 trans with od to the challenger that came with a 904 and I'm looking for a drive shaft. Now I know the 727 and the a833 are the same so I found one in fair shape for 200 and then a new one is 400 plus so I personally trust the oem stuff more because of the steel quality but you guys have more experience so what would you recommend ?

I figured 200 shipped and then 50-100 to balance? Plus no dealing with measuring and I believe oem in mopar is much better than anything aftermarket but what do you think and why ?

Depends on condition I guess as well as HP/torque output . The original was designed for stock output.... its also 50 years old, so if there is any rust( inside you can't see), dents etc... I'd go new. But that's just me and I'm far from a purist.

Well if it's a 81 challenge drive shaft I figure 383-440 car even the 318 was rated at more horsepower than my 360 240 hp

Plus if I get a hemi 6.4 next year I'll probably stick with stock

I'd get a new one made to the exact length it should be if it were mine.
