Our "pet" is somewhere in her mid 90s.
Currently hibernating for the season.

@YellowThumper

@YellowThumper how long does she hibernate for? Just in a cage?

It's been a while so, @Shoooter so I will fill in what I recall.

His Turtle has been in his family for over 90 yrs.
During the Winter months it hibernates under their porch.
Loves Lettuce and over goodies.
Really amazing.

Worth him telling us the story again.

Sorry for the delayed replies @Shoooter @Topcat
Yes she is somewhere in her mid 90s. We got her about 20 years ago from a coworker who was in his seventies then. His family had her for his whole life.
Hibernation is typically towards the end of December. The colder the weather the earlier she goes down. Sometimes we have to force it. Late season she gets groggy and stupid. Will go out in rain and then go to sleep in a puddle and could drown. That is when we force it. Has a wood box "home" she goes back to almost every night. We put this in a cardboard box and then into cool garage for the remainder. Around March we will start to hear her clawing. Then out she comes for the next season. Still digs holes a couple times each summer to lay eggs. Also buries it when done. I've looked. Never any eggs.
Will try and force herself into anywhere. No limits.
Eats romaine lettuce. Hates iceberg. Will not eat it. Likes honeydew melon but not cantaloupe.

Best pet ever.

Every time she hears me in and out of back yard. She wants out too.
At the very end of vid. There is a space below gate. She tries every time to squeeze her fat butt under but cannot make it.

A close friend of mine has been working on and off on the restoration of this original CDN Fj6 1971 383 auto Cuda convertible for close to 30 years now....I can't count the amount of times I've tried to buy this car from him....now that he is retired, he's finally getting near the end with it.

Sent me this picture today...

Previously I commented on the technology of the company I work for. 2hrs 24min in he starts using our oxygen saturation tester. Again... non invasive technology that reads a amazing amount of vital blood information externally. :perfect10:
