Loved him in Full Metal Jacket. He will be missed. :andyangel:

It was so real, just like what drill sergeants really were then.
Still vivid in my mind how intense they were.

Gunny was a really really nice man in person.  Quite humble and accommodating considering his celebrity status.  I had the opportunity to meet and spend an afternoon with him at a highpower shooting match seven or eight years ago.  Old guy could still knock the center out of the x-ring at 600 yards too.  He was one of the good ones.  Rest in Peace.  Semper Fi.
