Gonna do this, once it's OK to travel again. Take the family on a 2 weeks vacation to a nice place, Italy, Spain or so.
Requirements for going is no cell phone! Just one (mine) for emergency, GPS and such. (There is no social media on my phone).
I hope that will teach them how addicted they are and change their habits a bit at least.
And if one of my kids don't wanna do that, I will cancel their cellphone plan (I'm paying for this crap!)

Not good at all, her self esteem is getting a huge hit

This, in my opinion, is the worst of all. When you're older you realize you 'can't please them all'. But when you are young, it's a different ball game and they can get really hurt. Can be life altering.

My two kids and even my wife have changed in the past five years...they burry their heads in that dam cell for hours, they've become a lot more "distant" for lack of a better word...

I hit the like button on this... lol  But to be honest, I don't like it.  I watched it with my wife and we started breaking ties to so much online connectivity.  Such a time suck.  We have lakefront property up north that we have agreed we need to "visit" more often and disconnect from the extended world and reconnect with the lake, the boat, the neighbors, the fish, and a few cold beers.
