MEK-Dangerous

I was hoping this thread wasn't going to make a downward turn.

Hang in there Roadman. I had a stroke myself in  November of 2010. What I learned is all strokes are not the same. It depends on what part of the brain died in the process.

Rehab $ucks Sooo much! I'm thankful to God that I can function like a normal person now. Back then, I couldn't even tie my shoes. I slurred my words like a drunk. To be honest, speech therapy was the worst.

Wow @MEK-Dangerous , I've only met twice at Carlisle but I had no idea you had a stroke. My son had a severe stroke at age 25 as a result of an accident and I'm very familiar with the recovery process. The brain can be re-wired but it takes a lot of time and effort. Congratulations on your success.

Hoping for a fast and speedy recovery.

I also hope that the time between his stroke and getting to the hospital was very minimal. This is key to a good recovery.

Sorry ... Haven't heard anything. Unfortunately the family is in control and not giving out much information.

Prayers go out to "Roadman" here's hoping that medical help was administered early, this makes a big difference. Strokes can come in various severities. I have had 3 heart attacks on main arteries. 1 in 2006 another in 2012 and again in 2013. Each one sent me to the hospital for a week at a stretch. As the Elton John song goes "I'm still standing, yeah, yeah, yeah".    Thanks,   Al
