So what is being built right now besides the website ??? :lurking:
added 20 feet onto my garage now its a 20x44 and 20 feet to side of my house.
:bravo:
Thanks Cody.
That's going to be a TON more space in your shop. Nice job man!!!!
Wish I had room for a bigger garage! Being a real estate broker, I see a lot of nice homes with pole barns and always gets me going . . . I could fill a large barn pretty fast with all the toys I have collected . . . ::)
You mean ....at this very minute ?.....not much, just trying to find my way around this new web site....
A townhouse in Florida. :veryexcited:

Well your going to hate me, but I'm building my sisters 49 Chevy 5 window pick up. :o Using an S10 frame with a Code504 mounting kit. Very deep purple that flops like crazy. All the goodies, Vintage Air, Power windows, brakes, etc. Her retirement toy.
Lets see a photo!!!!!

Same here ( pennyies towards a garage)
I guess I will collecting Pennies for a long time.
Where I live a house with a 3 bedroom, 2 bay garage and a decent back yard will run you anywhere from $800,000 to 1.5 million dollars. ::)
We don't even have penny's anymore. Guess it will be along time lol
Building up a 70 Cuda. I need to build a bigger garage. I never thought I would run out of room.

Holy shnikees :unbelievable:
Putting a new drivers side floor in my `83 SnoCommander plow truck - ya I know it`s already middle of winter, at least I have a snowblower as a back up. I`ll peobably have it done by spring but at least then I can use it to tow my Duster to the drag strip. Need to get the truck done so I can do some work on the Duster and pull the 4 spd on the `cuda for a rebuild and new clutch disc.

:bigmoney: Ugh! You could move here to IL, buy the same kind of house, and then buy about 10 or so sweet Mopars. I wouldn't even consider IL to have lower cost housing.
Working on two for myself right now.
First is not a e body but I like it a lot. A 1971 Satellite Sebring Plus
383hp Four speed with AC. Inviolet purple with white interior and canopy top.
Second is the 71 Challenger convertible. 340 auto.
They should keep me out of trouble for a while.
Dave
Since I posted about a brake swap on the Facebook page, I now have to make a wheel change to the convertible.
As of now looks like I am pulling my Spyder mags out of storage.
New tires of course.
Dave

I really like your over-spray pattern. Looks like factory, but still super clean. Kinda the middle ground between a fast factory paint job and a fully painted underside. You are making me want to give that a try next time. Really dig it.
I am looking for my final Challenger. In the mean time I got this twin turbo Stealth going so I can flip it and I am going to start on a 29 Roadster Pickup. I've held onto one of everything (as far as parts go) for a 70 Challenger so hopefully I can get close to buying a good 70 R/T project for what I can get for the Stealth. This is the first time in 44 years I haven't had a Mopar muscle car in hand and it's a weird feeling, the bank account keeps growing though which it doesn't do when you have a project on the go.
Sheldon
Did you see the R/T currently on EBay...talked about here in another thread ? :dunno:
If I could run my hands and eyes over it and if it wasn't FC7 that's what I'm looking for alright. After blocking this for what seemed 100 times I just don't want another purple car. Man is that colour hard to lay down right (of course that was in the "Centari days").
Sheldon
Funny how Purple is a love or hate color. I know how you feel. Each time I paint a color I think I never want to see that color again. Then I forget how much work it was to get right and sign back up to do it again. :Thud:
Well, to be honest I got burned out on building vehicles and tried something different....Since I live on the susquehanna river I decided to build an airboat...When I say "build and airboat" I mean breaking out the welders and just doing it....I painted a cool theme on the boat I don't think I'll be confused with somebody else on the water.. :D....I'm just about done...I'll be docked right in my back yard every summer...It's relaxing to get off work and head out on the water to do some fishing in the evening...
Wow thats cool! Nice job! :clapping:
More sheet metal needed than I hoped...
Anyone have a trunk trough for a 67, 68, 69 Barracuda Fastback?
Going to have to make new... estimate is 156 hours for all the sheet metal and body work. Estimate is 2 pages. I looked at it yesterday and too a few pictures.
Bringing a truck load of new AMD sheet metal today.
RF Passenger floor has been replaced, both pillars on top of the rear wheel houses, both door posts need repair, windshield opening, Cowl, trunk floor, trunk extensions, full quarters, the floor in front of the trunk floor next to where the fuel filler tube goes, door corners, trunk lid lip, rear valance, pass outer rocker...
No turning back.
Sub frame connectors are in, rear torque boxes are in. Going to have new US Car Tool full radiator support.
A little bummed at the amount of swiss cheese found but not a total surprise. The car had been sitting outside forever in Vancouver and Portland...
Not going to get too hung up, just keep plugging away, no pun intended...

Trying to get the motivation to tune my EFI 6 pack Challenger, clean the shop, get back to building the Cuda... Too easy to put it all off but I am starting to feel the urge again so I am sure I will be back to it soon.
That 6 pack EFI looks freaking COOL!!!!
Yeah it is, I have 2 of them... a little bit of a learning curve getting it setup and tuned (still trying to figure that out). Completely changes the way the car starts and runs however. I don't think I will ever go back to a carb again.
All that said, not a cheap endeavor with lots of secondary effects; had to change the entire fuel system, ignition system, distributor, etc. Of course I could have don't it much cheaper if I didn't have to have the 6 pack version.. :D
Well I am not working on a car right now but I am working on this, This is called a loom and it writes a logo in the fabric, ours is elastic. Its one of those jobs you never thought about but darn sure glad someone does it or you would be wearing your boxers around you ankles. I can put any name or logo. The orange cords does the writing. 6 Space machine with 384 cords per space.
Tim
Cool!!
:iagree: I get mad when I get my fishing line tangled... imagine the work it takes to string that machine! :Thud:

This literally made me laugh out loud!
This week I am in Memphis, helping out with some research at St. Jude's children's hospital.
2 weeks ago, I just finished building my house on a nice piece of acreage where I can eventually build a bigger shop.
Next week I will be back on my 70 Barracuda, test fitting and maybe firing up the 5.7 Hemi [emoji851]

Moving along. New F/R valances, Door corners, some deck lid rust repairs still to go.
Will POR the entire floor inside.
Decided on Black interior sheet metal vs body color.
Should it be gloss, semigloss or satin through out? Single stage or base/clear.
How did you do yours? Any pictures?
Car will be 2015 Viper Gunmetal Pearl Gray with matte or satin black wheels
No joke! :clapping: Man, that bodywork is looking great and going fast!!!!

Moving along.
Anyone ever eliminate the vent opening in the cowl? Classic Auto Air AC System does not use outside air and blocks it off inside.
I'm thinking eliminating the grated opening for the vents in the cowl. Smoothed out would look really nice and also eliminate a source for collecting crap or leaks.
The windshield squirters would need to be moved but I think I can find late model little black squirters and mount them on the cowl like these.
Will fill the firewall holes too.

:iagree: :clapping: Impressive!!!!! :clapping:
Ok. OK. I know its not an E-body. :P. :)
But we are building a street/strip 65 Barracuda A-body. Previously a dedicated strip car built in mid-90's that we picked up last fall. We want it streetable enough for Drag Week and goal is 10.0 sec index car.
I rewired whole car and added requirements for street: high/low beam headlights, signals, good brake and parking lights, horn, larger fuel cell, battery box, etc. Ran all the accessories through Painless relay panel.
Wired up Speedwire relay and switch panel for go-fast stuff.
This is what we finally decided on:
383 stroked to 431, Ross pistons, H beam rods, Scat 4340 crank, Trick Flow heads, Harland rocker arms, custom Bullet cam, solid roller, Melling oil pump, and Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT intake.
To finish off: Meziere relocated (radiator mounted) water pump, 170 amp Mechman or Powermaster alternator, and Fuel Tech 5.0 EFI (rail). Also will take look at trans (refresh prob) and install JW ultra bell SFI on trans. Custom headers/exhaust of course lol. Cal tracs maybe (I'm thinking probably) after break in and some good runs.
We looked at stroking the 360 and adding blower or turbo or NOS. I wanted to be a bit different representing Mopar ... no offense to them but you see a dime a dozen all LS motors, F bodies, Fox bodies, etc. And when you get to the few Mopars its hemis usually (again .. no offense ... but we do have budget .... maybe on next upgrade .. :o )
This puppy should pull mad up to 8k ...
Block is at machine shop. Should be back next week. Car is at builders shop. I'll be there prepping everything for install and to help keep on timeline. 4 weeks out on custom pistons. So want to do as much as we can so when the motor is ready .... we have all other crap done. Want it running April!!!
Here's some pics of before and after:
That barracuda sounds like it will be a blast!

@cuda hunter (http://forum.e-bodies.org/index.php?action=profile;u=176) Is this a personal home or a customer?
What does it cost to build a home like that ? Just the house, not the land.
Not what is worth finished, but what someone would pay to have it built and what are your margins ?
Customers home.
Home will end up in the 245.00 sq.ft. range. Now I hate giving out sq.ft. pricing as it changes for every customer. It all depends on just how "custom" you want to build.
I can sometimes get a home down to 200. sq. ft. But these homes are I.C.F. built homes. So I will have 42' tall walls that are 12" thick. This type of home I build is bullet proof. Works great for heating and cooling purposes. I have had customers cut their heating bills by 2/3rds.
That sq.ft. price will be a finished cost of the house. I will make a percentage on overall home cost. I also make my hourly wage for working on the home. So I do mostly "cost plus" pricing on all my homes. That way you know exactly what your getting and how much you will be paying me from the beginning. That doesn't mean I give you a price and we stick to that. I'm not a bidder per say. With custom homes one decision can change the home cost by 20 or 30% .
I enjoy building homes in remote locations. So I am fine with a "cost plus" work environment. Not trying to get rich here and I prefer transparency.
Most of my customers are in other states and I do this for them without them being in the state.
Did that answer your questions?
I had to break out a calculator, but yes thank you... :brainiac:
So I take it you've got the Shotgun ready if any Elk or Deer coming wandering in?
Maybe a deer feeder down yonder?
I've been helping a local buddy rebuild his newly acquired 68 Charger R/T 440/4 speed, Dana car. It got hit in the rear and parked early in its life. It has 62,000 miles on it. He bought these cars out of Alberta. It was a package deal, the other car he cut up for parts to rebuild this one. :crying:
The Charger currently has the back half almost all together, replaced rear clip from donor car. Rear frame rails, wheel tubs, new AMD floors and drop offs. The rear quarters are almost ready to be welded back on after being fit. Man parts for these cars are super expensive. Grill was around 3K alone.
Here are his other cars...71 Cuda 340 auto billboard car cloned into a Hemi. and a 71 Challenger R/T with a shaker added. I helped him assemble the challenger, prep for paint. The Cuda I helped him install the Hemi. He is or try's to be a numbers matching or "correct" kind of guy and I..... am not so its funny, almost like two worlds colliding .

I wish. There is an ACC and HOA in this development. So not yet. But the homeowner said I could kill what I want. Would just be a fine from the neighborhood.
I got a freezer full though so I don't really need to kill anything.

Maybe he will post the pictures of the convertible he brought back to life. I was totally amazed with what he started with and the end result. :woohoo:
I got this one running today. It's a complicated little sonofagun, twin turbo AWD. I bought it with a broken engine but a rebuilt one came with it. Would have been an easy job on an old Mopar but there is about 50lbs of stuff jammed into a 10lb bag with these cars. Idea is to sell it and put the money into another 70 Challenger to keep. Tomorrow install new leather on the seats and then deal with some paint issues.
I love Aaron's work, but tell him with billboards the rear marker lights should be black and with FJ6 the grill should be green as well.
If you put dog dish wheels on it, I'll puke :barf:
thanks Alan,

I had a 91 RT (non turbo) which I gave to my son and later to a neighbor. Fun car but I understand what you mean by everything jammed in a small space. I had to replace the water pump and cam belt which was an adventure. I realized after some time that these cars takes a different mentality than old muscle cars; the tuner guys are all over it. Would love to have a twin turbo AWD variant but already have far too many other projects.

A4 with white interior, white Billboards and V02W Painted White Roof! :ohyeah:

Wow, after reading all these posts and seeing the cars, I blush to tell you that my boys and I are working on their '84 Horizon that started out as a $400 2.2 auto, carburated, 4 bolt wheel, Boite de merde and is now a 2.5 fuel injected, turbo'd and intercooled, 5 speed with 5 bolt wheels and we're installing the GLH gear to make it a GLH clone. I think I've finally got the last patch welded in and we're into the body work with an eye to get it in epoxy primer in the next few days. This car is so light, you can't believe it. We must be nuts! :looney:

My current daily driver is going back to Volkswagen on the 8th [TDI buy-back]. I have been spending my time getting the Warlock ready to daily drive, at least through the Summer, if not longer. Picking up the correct wheels from the media blaster tomorrow and will shoot some "Inca Gold" on them this week!
My daughter and I are currently working on getting her '74 Duster finished. The project has been halted for 10 years now...her college and other life happenings got in the way. The car was disassembled and primered when we last left it. Here are some pics from 10 years ago...more pictures to follow in the next few weeks.
I an excited to see this project moving forward again :veryexcited:

The Warlocks were a great package and those trucks are modern enough to be a great daily driver.

There's a guy with cast iron cojones and a lot of ability, Brad! That's neither a cheap build nor one for the faint of heart, either. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Who's doing the work? :bigthumb:
Looks like the back end was bitten off by a shark! :haha:

Barracuda attack? :)
Sort of, it got hit hard early in it's life and parked. It only has 66,000 miles on it, 440/4 speed real R/T
I hope he got it cheap, because it's a miracle that they didn't just bail it back in the day! Nice load though and I think 68 Chargers are absolutely fabulous cars. I'd love to have one, but the Challenger is enough to keep me out of trouble for a wee while yet!
Drove down to Buffalo NY this morning to get some parts for Mike's 68 Charger, Then back to machine shop to pick up the cylinder head for the 440. We had it running a stuck a valve. Motor has not ran in 40 years. Mike was so upset. I had the head off and at my buddy s machine shop an hour later. I was amazed how quick/easy it came apart. Even the bolts on the exhaust manifolds came out easy? It's all original numbers matching and never been apart. It did ever so slightly hit the piston but didn't bent the valve but did bend the push rod. My engine builder buddy had an extra push rod so it was a luck/cheap fix. He dropped everything to help us ! We then put it back together this afternoon. Car is almost ready for paint. It's all in primer. Next is mechanical, exhaust, brake lines etc... Yesterday we installed most everything new on the front end and prepped and painted the engine bay . Car was originally Bronze poly but Mike wants it triple black with a red stripe( I might of has something to do with convincing him? LOL ) I so enjoy working on it even though it's not my car. Keeps me busy during the slow times. Mike was diagnosed with cancer just after Christmas. It doesn't look good as it's aggressive and spreading. First chemo treatment does seem to be shrinking the tumor that appeared on his neck. This is what Mike wants to do most is finish this car , so I'm more than happy /honored to help ! If your the praying type , please say a prayer for Mike.... he sure can use them!
Got it running today, pretty much finished with the engine bay. Mike was VERY happy to hear it running nice again. Hoping tomorrow to start on getting the underside of the hood and fenders painted. I did talk him into changing those plug wires..... they look a little "tunerish" :-X

He wants to stay all stock. Lots of date code type stuff on this car. If it was mine it would have disc's for sure......
Better get new shoes the stock ones will be over heated , baked black & cracked , maybe the factory installed them this way :notsure:

Will do, we haven't even had the drums off yet? Original factory parts we believe ?
Here is where I am at on the property I am building.
Foam insulation going in right now.
Drywall is next then I start the trim out!
You guys won't like this, but i'm building a 1987 Chrysler Conquest. It is now powered by a 2jz with th400. I'm expecting about 500 at the wheels. Some mods include a Haltech ecu and harness, 1000cc injectors, Precision 6262 turbo and a walbro fuel pump. I've gone thru the whole car upgrading everything from suspension to brakes. I fell in love with these cars around 1990 when Ted Wagner did a 340 conversion in a 1988 Blue widebody. It was the inspiration for this one i completed about three years ago (https://i.imgur.com/rWXMr28.jpg) it's a small block & 904, just a fun cruiser. I started this Conquest build while waiting on my buddy ( doing body & paint ) to start on my Cuda. He had some health issues around this time last year and it's been put on hold. Go ahead, flame away on the rice burner :Stirring:
I always liked the looks of those Conquests.

Removed the original gas tank and preparing to drill out the spot welds in replacing the trunk floor! The trunk floors always seem to rot out right out under the exhaust hangers.
:wrenching:
