I'm going with an Aeromotive electric fuel pump setup/tank for mine. If I were keeping it stock, I'd opt for the Tanks Inc tank. I've read nothing but great things about both.

I'm going with new on my 70 RT. Chump change in comparison to what could happen.

Hey all, I am starting to get my project moving and have to replace the trunk floor - shocker.  While I have everything apart, I want to address the gas tank.

Reading through this thread, my '70 V code is not really a survivor I do have the broadcast sheet and have spent a lot of time (and more money) trying to find factory original or NOS parts as I want the car to be as close to original as possible.

I am not sure if my gas tank is original, and the car is currently running and driving so the gas tank is in decent condition.  Is there really any value in restoring the existing tank vs. one from Roseville? Do the aftermarket tanks have the correct markings and finish?

Seems for my application a replacement would make sense, but if there are reasons to keep the original I am all ears - thanks
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

Most of the repro gas tanks are correct. Just make sure you get the original plated finish. The Spectras are good but they're made in Canada so that might not work anymore.

I definitely agree with the consensus here - go with new and go premium if you can. A lot of great suggestions here. I went mostly stainless on the tank, sending unit (upgraded to 3/8 vs. 5/16), new filler neck, lines, etc.

Side note: I changed my CA emissions tank to Federal, since no one makes the heat shield for it and unless someone is going to get snippy, I don't think it will be a deal breaker later on.
