Okay, I bought this car as a roller/project car so I can build it the way I want it. The car is an original AC car but so many parts are missing I've decided to convert it to a non AC car. I dropped the K frame out of the car and working on the firewall closing up a bunch of holes and modifying the firewall for the non-ac heater box. The plan is once I'm done with the firewall I'm going to paint the engine compartment B5 blue. While the K frame is out that too will get painted along with a complete front end rebuild.

Update on project 73 Cuda. The conversion to a non AC firewall is completed. Took me longer than I expected but it's done. After fill in the area with body filler I primed the area with Summit urethane 2K primer. Today I removed the steering column, power brake booster, wiring, etc getting ready to paint the engine compartment. I already had the K frame out so I pulled it apart for a suspension rebuild.

Thank you. Either B5 blue or a similar blue. I'm thinking about yellow also. I need to make a decision quickly because I should have the front suspension rebuild and k frame painted by next week. So the firewall got to be painted before the k frame goes back up. The rear is out of the car. A Dana 60 is coming on Monday from Dr. Diff. As soon as the can roll I'm going to order a Blueprint 408 engine and a Tremec TKX. I'm moving along pretty good and hopefully I can be driving it by the summer.

Sounds like an awesome build!

Is the original color FE5 rally red?
Mind sharing the fender tag?

Making that paint choice is a big one to make on such a short notice time frame.

Well don't post much but I'm moving along. Please don't judge me on that blue thing parked alongside the Cuda.

Looks like a bunch of work has been done since your last post.
No better time for pics than the present, thanks for posting some.
No judging on the car.  Is that a corvette?

Are you planning on a black car now?  Looks like the engine bay is black instead of blue.

Was the car originally a D21 car?  (manual 4 speed)

Yes its a originally a 340 4 speed car. And yes have a 82 Corvette with a Blueprint 350/341 HP engine and a Tremec TKX. I change my mind on the color at the last minute to black. The car is now back at the body shop to have the doors, hood, fenders for fitment before he paints those parts.  I posted this link before here but I'll post it again.  https://youtube.com/shorts/ZUC4lgV0hXY?si=0UWjLmjo6uMfqIpB

Good afternoon, figured I put up a few pictures. I'm really close to finishing up my Cuda.

You have made a lot of progress!
Black looks great and the red strip sets it off, great choices.

The paint and bodywork look really good (well the whole car actually). Nice work.

Nice work! Soon to be putting some miles on her!  :bigthumb:

Thank you. Although I can't take credit for the paint. I'm not that talented. I only did the mechanical, electrical, and the body work on the firewall. A shop in the next town over did the paint

Well then, credit is due for finding the body shop that can and will do great body work.

Looks great!!
