I know this is a EBody site but.... if you don't ask then you will never know?
I'm in need of a pair of steering arms from a AMC Pacer for my Javelin for a rack conversion I'm working on. Being " car guys" I thought someone might know of one lying around?  Anyone know of any parts cars or in a local wrecker?  They do make repops for circle track racing but I believe they are different than stock (Argo)
I never would have thought someday I'd be looking for anything from a Pacer!   :crazytalk::haha:

Thanks Brad

Maybe.... I'll try to get out to my local vintage. yard next week..

Just to be clear it's the steering arm that bolts to the spindle. I'd take the whole steering knuckle assy if I had to  but only need the arms. ( like if someone won't sell the arms separately. )

Yup, understood... I've been needing to get out there anyway, they have some AMC stuff, not sure on the Pacer.... Same place that has the 69 Javlin I posted a picture of years ago when you were looking for the next generation...

Thanks 1 wild RT . I posted a picture so others would know what it is that I need. It's my understanding that all years of Pacer had a rack and steering arms that are shorter.  I'd be pleasantly surprised if there are many Pacers left. I would think most would have met the crusher early as IMO they were such an ugly car that not many wanted/like but you never know.... LOL
Also some internet listings/Ebay etc.... list pitman/idler arms for AMC's including Pacers..... which didn't use idler/pitman as they had a rack.

Funny thing, a neighbor in my shop complex has a perfect Pacer hood sitting on the side of his shop, it's been there for a few years, he's posted ads on C/L asking someone to take it for free, it's to nice to scrap, but no one wants it...  He posts ads of all sorts of stuff he doesn't want & most of it gets hauled off... That hood & a brand new bedside for a 2003 F350 have had no takers...

There's gotta  be some AMC Pacer fanatic out there somewhere hoarding parts anddf know  how's.

Brad, Sorry to report my favorite yard has scrapped all their AMC stuff.... Someone bought the Javelin they had & went through the rest of the AMC stuff pretty throughly & after that they cleaned them out making room for stuff that actually sells...  Probably won't be holding on to their Mopars much longer...

Brad on Facebook market I messaged a guy selling some pacer parts. He didn't have any steering parts, but gave this info;

Sorry, no but there is a Pacer being parted out on either the Los Angeles craigslist of one of the southern Arizona craigslist listings.  It is advertised on the AZ list I think but the car is actually located in Ocenside,CA between LA and San Diego.  It is listed under auto parts, not cars and trucks.  Good luck.

Thanks guys! I found a seller on E-Bay that had a Pacer rack for sale. I messaged him and made a deal on the steering arms I needed. He is out of Arizona . I paid via paypal, just waiting on them to arrive!  :bradsthumb:

FYI    Pacer steering arms are unique as they are shorter and mount the tie rod  lower  to suit the rack. Here is a picture

You may want to message : Mark Zeno, Bradley Sargent or Todd David Church on FB, They sell a lot of AMC parts!

Since you started an AMC thread, I will ask if anyone has a NOS or super clean drivers quarter panel for a 66 Ambassador 2 door HT. I can also use a Marlin quarter as I want to sp;ice it under the stainless molding on the top edge!

God bless
Bill

San Diego number.... Funny, when I was in the Navy stationed in San Diego my chief was a total AMC nut & had just purchased 50,000 sq ft warehouse full of AMC parts.... He was retiring & planned to start his second career as a vintage AMC parts retailer... I might need to call just to see if it's him...
