Hello. Yes, Limelight sold. I will miss her. I don't know how to take down the thread. There was a lot of interest in the car. Thank you, Dave

Our 'Cuda was sold and is being shipped to a European buyer. The sales price was $85,000.00. During the inspections, we found-out the transmission was not matching numbers. This scared off some buyers. It also caused me to lower the asking price to $89,995.00.
I have sold other cars before and this car brought forward a lot of difficult to deal with "buyers". I only had the car on  Hemmings for a few days before buyers came forward. I received several offers in the 70K range, sight unseen, pending inspection first.
I had four buyers visit the car. The first buyers, a husband and wife team who claimed to own 3 'Cudas brought $30K in cash and told me if I didn't take it, they would never reinstate the offer and that I would be very sorry. They also told me I was too old and they were young and should have the car.
The second customer offered full price but wanted to offer part cash and baseball trading cards.
The third buyers flew into town and were taking the car apart, literally inspecting every number, etc. They told me the car was worth $70-75K but would not offer it. They  were a total waste of time and I think were just on a 'Cuda holiday. Condescending and pompous. Offensive.
The final buyer, a true gentleman, made a thorough inspection. He is in the trade and a buyer for European clients. He knew more about 'Cudas than anybody I have ever met. We reached the sales price quickly. He never criticized any portion of the car. He made prompt payment. The major selling points he told me were that we had owned the car since 1989 and had every receipt and paperwork since we bought it. He told us he had looked at a lot of 'Cudas and they did not have original  steel, were fakes, no documentation or even worse. His client wanted a car that had a strong paper-trail and all original steel. The lack of the matching transmission number was of little concern to him.
In conclusion, when I first asked for an opinion on value earlier on this Forum, the information provided did not match-up with my real-time experience. Since I have sold the car, Hemmings did not take down my ad even though I cancelled it.  I have received about a dozen more emails from interested buyers. My sale might be a unicorn, you might say, or on the other side of the coin, those who dispense an opinion on valuation may be too pessimistic. I sincerely appreciate the moderators and all those who maintain this outstanding platform. What a great resource! We will miss our car, having had a lot of fun with it over the years, however, we are happy that the new buyer will enjoy a very solid, fast and reliable MoPar. Respectfully, Dave

Fire sale OOPS it's gone already = $35K-$45K
Quick Sale = $45K-$55K
Might take a bit, but will sell = $55K-$65K
Eventually it might sell = $65K-$75K
Take a very long time to find a buyer = $75K-$85K
Never going to happen = $85K-$95K
Now you're just dreaming = $95K-$105K
Been watching too much Barrett-Jackson = $105k+

The current "driver status" combined with "an older paint job" and of course the "automatic" are all things holding it back in my opinion.

GREAT options, colour combo, originality are all huge pluses  :bigthumb:

Just MY opinion :dunno:

Well I'll be the first to congratulate you on the sale, that's awesome, selling a car is never fun... :clapping:

Also I'll be the first to apologise seeing how my $85K-$95K was,  quote: "never going to happen" , in this case I am glad to be wrong, and happy that you proved me wrong, but even happier that you shared the actual selling price....

Moving forward it's somewhat easier to estimate the value of these cars with real world data

....and I wasn't really too far off :D

My sense was that the market is  very strong right now. To me 85K is a boat load of money. To some people, driving a 100K Tesla, it is pocket change. I may have just gotten lucky, however, I believe the market has advanced more than you may think for our beloved e-bodies

Can someone post the fender tag back up for me?

It's a beautiful and rare car and somebody is lucky to own it. I hope they take good care of it and enjoy the car.
