1970 Challenger RT 440 Rear Sway Bar

Does anyone know if 70 Challenger RT 440 4spd Track Pack cars came with a rear sway bar as standard equipment or was that just for TA's?

No rear sway bar in E-body Dana cars. STD or optional.

Rear sway bar std in 70-71 R/T and 'Cuda models with 8 3/4 rear.

Also STD in T/A and AAR.

I believe std in 70-71 Challenger 340 car that were not R/T's.

Very early 70 A66 (340) Challengers may not have them. There was a magazine road test that didn't have one std, but that may have been a pre production/pilot car anomaly.

I agree: No 440 or 426 cars left the factory with a rear bar but it's a fun addition.

Neither of my Challengers 340 4 spd A66 (Feb 70 build) or 440 4 spd (March 70 build) cars had them.

does your car have an axle package?  A36?

I believe the "NORM" is:
e-body rear sway bar came out with the "TRANS AM" package A53 cars (nothing prior to that)
after that point they were included on 340 & 383HP cars with the STANDARD "S13" "Rallye Suspension"
& included with the OPTIONAL "S13" suspension on /6, 318, 383 2bbl, 383 4bbl cars

NEVER with an E-body DANA or 440 4bbl / 440 6bbl / HEMI

My R/T SE aug 69 build did not have one but now does , I added it back in the early 80s , of course it now has a Dana also

Update:  As I have been working on the car, I was under it doing the exhaust over the weekend and I can see where it did have one at one time.  You can clearly see the mounting points.  I find it odd to have a 383 car that has/had a rear sway bar but didn't come with torque boxes.

Guess I need to find one and the mounting plates now.
