Help Getting Rear Drum Off

Jason , if you find you need and axle or what ever? I have my old  8 3/4 still sitting here, your welcome to what ever you need? I did install all new studs in my axles as well. I did use the drum brakes on my Javelin so just the housing and axles are left.

Thanks for the offer @Brads70 I think I am ok right now, but may touch base with you on the rear.

I probably need to do the rear bearings and seals (would like to do a gear change as well), but its tough to do in my little 10x20. I may be interested in what ever you have left if it fits an e-body.

Yes there should be room without removing the axle. You will have to turn the axle a couple times to get enough room behind them.

Yep agreed you can do it without removing the axles. Easy if you remove the break shoes.

True but not necessary. I just did it in my truck without removing shoes.

Dakota wants to install longer studs. Just curious if there's a length limit for the studs before the axle has to come out.

There is quite a bit of room to put in longer studs.

I bought studs from Summit that were 2.875" long  based on a post Alan made about what he uses. These were too long to fit behind the axle flange plus they were too long for my lug nuts.  I ended up cutting about an inch off them.   They fit fine once shortened. 

I bought another set of the same studs for the front wheels (did a disc conversion previously) but haven't put them on yet.
