Wow I would be very tempted to respray it !!
:iagree:  But the materials and labor would be considerable.   :pullinghair:

Chryco Psycho

True but it will not get cheaper especially considering disassembling the car again

It's gonna cost $10k or more to recolor the car. I'd love to do it but I cannot justify that. I'm going to get some miles and enjoyment out of the current paint.

My buddy Craig is looking out for me and doing what I asked him to do, keep me from being stupid...

Rich Nedbal @ Mopar Engines West built my engine but a lot has changed in the world of fuel injection since the motor was built so I ended up pulling the custom EFI manifold and machining a new RPM Air Gap to replace it... I was just going to throw it on and call it good, but Craig looked at all the port work on my heads and said to pull my head out of my butt and gasket match the manifold or he'd stop helping me with the car... so here are the results..

This engine would be IN THE CAR right now, but the engine mount brackets I got from Mancini are incorrect... UGH... New set on the way, ONLY another $170.. No idea what the ones I got are actually for.. Anyway it's making progress still..

ledphoot

This is the incorrect passenger side motor mount.. I bought these over a year ago, gotta find the invoice and see if there is anything I an do.

I am glad Craig was there , the ports as cast are terrible , I always port match & could show you a few other tricks while the manifold is off  :alan2cents:

Yeah, my rationale was what are we talking 5-10HP? And his position was, look at this beautiful motor and you wanna just throw that turd of a manifold on there.. LoL.. It didn't take but a couple of hours and it's considerably better than it was out of the box. It'll probably run a bit better, regardless of peak numbers. Craig did the work.. And he did a great job IMHO.

What other tips and tricks you got Chryco Psycho?

I think you could go deeper into the runners. The as cast radii of the runners are also pretty bad. My engine builder also notch the center divider at the top so the two plenum are no longer divided.

I hear notching the plenum divider helps a lot with these Holley Sniper / FITech setups as well.. Will definitely consider that.

THANKS!

Notching the center divider can have quite an effect on the way intakes work , you want to be careful how much you remove or you might as well just by a single plane intake which is generally my choice anyway .

I am going to run the intake with a 1/4" Canton Racing Phenolic spacer. I hear this gets rid of some of that turbulence at the plenum and eliminate the whistling noise common with the sniper and dual plane intakes. Will also be putting in a progressive linkage once we get it dialed in a bit with the standard one first. I don't want to muck with a lot of things until I hear it run and then start slowly going through and fine tuning / dialing in tweeks until it's just right.

Got my dash frame from the powder coater. Sunlight shining on it makes it look lighter than it really is.

Looks good.  :ohyeah:
Seeing as you powder coated it, make sure you scrape some off for an effective ground at the mounting points.

Good thing you said that! I am so excited about putting it all back together and in the car that I probably would have overlooked it!!!
