For sure the best way to handle the situation .

Funny thing, they know Rich Nedbal, my engine's builder, he is tuning the EFI on cars they build... Small world..

I would let the guys at QA1 know about the issue, that pan is fairly popular especially with guys who like to go round corners quickly..... Could help someone in the future & perhaps they would make a revision & send you the first one to test...

Got a response from QA1 today.. Basically they didn't test with the road race pan and that's that. I let 'em know they should have a matrix of motors / oil pans the are tested and approved so people don't end up buying the wrong crap and having to customize it..

My oil pan is in very good hands so it will turn out fine, it's just the whole two steps forward one step back thing that seems to be lurking behind every corner on this build :)

They in essence leave all the R&D up to the consumers. Guarantee they will now have that failure in their database. Not for pre purchase literature but for the latter confirmation it doesn't work.

Got the oil pan back today. The new welds are better than Milodon's :)

Nice , I would prefer to do it the way you are by using that pan modified

That is a lot of work. I had to trim the gusset plates slightly at my K frame in order to fit the road race pan. Sucks that modification is required in order to install that expensive oil pan. It better works the way they advertised.

It's getting closer.

That is looking great !!

Gonna be on the phone with TTI tomorrow drivers side header won't clear oil pan or torsion bar.  I am hoping I can get them to build me a one off custom header for me. Otherwise I am going to have custom headers made.

Gonna start on other things while this sorts itself  out.

Can you dimple the tubes and make them fit? Or are they way off? One of the TV shows did testing that showed dimpling the headers didn't advertently cause any differences in power.

I would dimple the oil pan for clearance , the T bars look over size so a dimple there is the best choice  :bigthumb:

I had to dimple the tube that goes above the road racing pan. It was not touching by a thickness of a sheet of paper when cold. I am sure that it would touch when hot. It did not take much, just flatten the tube above the pan. I have no issue with the torsion bar. May be check some more as TTI is very good about fitment.

Even dimpled they will be too close to these components for my liking. Will call TTI shortly and see if I can get them to make me a one-off drivers side header. I'll gladly pay for it  there is totally room to work with and make it happen.

Plan B is send the whole car over to the fab shop that did my oil pan and have them make me custom headers. In the end this would probably be best because I can get better ground clearance than the TTI's this way, probably a whole inch or maybe two from what I see.

It's only money right? LoL :takemymoney:

If TTI headers are not returned and it is semi close to working. Current header can be modified to fit properly. This would save remaking new. Also limit the possibility of introducing another unexpected error in fitment. All new custom would require car to be at their facility. Moving a pipe or two could be done with just sending header. Try and sell this "improvement" to TTI.

I gave them a call today at lunchtime and was asked to call back tomorrow when the owner is back in the office.. Fingers are crossed that I can mark up the headers, send them pictures / ship the header to them, resulting in a one-off custom driver's side header that looks / fits right in my car :)

Already talked to the fab shop and they said they could cleanly modify the header if required. So I am covered either way.
