I know where this car came from. It was too much of a project for me, glad to see it's being saved. Did you buy it from the the original member here or the original buyer?

A member on here. It changed hands a few times since the guy pulled it out of a garage in New York back in 2010. That post was over on CC.com when he found it.

I just can't afford a pedigree car. V code cars are waay over priced in any condition. This is a way that I can purchase a V code and actually afford to build one. Built by me. I can't afford to bring it to a restoration shop so I will spend my own labor time to build it. It's not that hard to restore a car.

I think it's great that you want to bring one back from the dead ! Not many people would.

It's still going to take a lot of time and money reguardless

It looks to be in better shape then some of the cars I've brought back ...

actually the bones are in really good shape. Far better than other rust buckets I've picked over the years.
It's just that this one has no clothes. It's just bones all around.

For an old race car that has a bolt in cage, it's still has good bones. It will need a lot of work, but for a real 4 speed 6 pack car that can be done on a budget it should be a good project for someone willing to have fun with their own time. Glad you ended up with the car.

And we know the original engine is out there too! It has a 4 speed bolted to it that has not been checked for numbers, but bet it's the original trans too. Sucks that the current owner is holding it hostage for a kings ransom.

Wonder if there would be a cost advantage to purchasing another to (-jk- swap vin tags-jk-) get a lot of the necessary sheetmetal parts.

I'm actually looking for a donor car. Not so much for the metal but for all the clips, chrome and other parts that I don't have.
I've got a ton of cuda parts but no challenger parts to speak of.
