Okay so with everything major pretty much squared away, I can finally start on some of the annoying mundane things I've noticed with the Challenger.

My driver side mirror is loose at the base where it attaches to the door to the point that the gasket that goes between to mirror and door can still be moved and wiggled around. The screws are all the way in to the point of chipping paint on the mirror. When the door shuts with wobbles as well as you can wiggle it just by gently touching the mirror head.

Was this a known problem for these cars? If so I'll leave it alone or is there and easy fix it to?

Can you tighten the screws ? the head of the screw should fit in the hole, maybe you need different screws with a smaller diameter head ? Are the nutserts still solid in the door or are they spinning or missing altogether ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Nutserts are original to the door and thinking they're still solid, I may use a nursert tool and squeeze them down a little more though. I got the screw kit from Roseville

Pull the mirror off the car and check the nutserts. Make sure your getting full, smooth travel with the screws. Screw in the screws a bit and see if the nutserts are loose.

Be super careful when tightening used nutserts. The door skin can be deformed around the area of the nutserts when (over) tightening them.  :alan2cents:

Update: spinning. Will tighten slightly and replace if needed.

Don't forget to check the Phillips head screw that holds the two halves of the mirror together. If that screw is loose, the mirror part will flop around.
