Since last year I waited too long (kinda forgot) to get a hotel I ended up booking to my usual Holiday Inn in New Cumberland in November. This year I definitely want to find a new location so figured I`d start the thread now. I like my HIE hotels but am open to any decent one, at least some kind of breakfast option is preferred. I passed by this one on my back way into the fairgrounds and it looks like a nice large area for trailer parking and pizza party, right off 81 and close to 11 and you can the back way in very easily but have never stayed at one -

Anyone else have suggestions?

Sunday my son and I  checked out the American In, and the Best Western. Both of these hotels are right on rt. 11. Only a few miles from the fairgrounds.

Both of these and even a 3rd hotel behind them, have some great areas we could use for the pizza party.

We would need to get rooms reserved early,  as I think they fill up quickly. They also may be a little higher priced than the old hotel.

We do need to find another place for the pizza party. Even though it was a better turn out this year, we did not have any members attending the party that were staying at the Super-8 hotel.

We need to lock down one of these hotels soon. The closer the hotel is to the fairgrounds, the faster they will fill up.

Hey guys, I appreciate you going the extra mile here and exploring options.
I have been AWOL from Carlisle since 2021, I believe. I miss you guys and need to plan to be there for 2026.
I'm open to staying somewhere else. The New Cumberland area was always our "spot", but maybe it's time to change.

We were wondering where you were at.  Have not seen you in a few years.

If you don't mind a 20 to 25 minute drive to the fairgrounds I would recommend the Mechanicsburg area.  I couldn't find anything available in Carlisle so I stayed at the Hampton Inn there, plenty of parking room for trailers and places to eat.  I especially liked the Lower Allen diner for good breakfast at reasonable price.

I for one don't mind a little ride to the show . . Nice in the early morning riding down the highway in route to the best Mopar show anywhere!  Then the people I will meet and the cars I will see certainly give me a warm feeling inside!  Certainly see if everyone can get something determined and hopefully it is not $200 plus a night.

Be cool if the hotel is on the west side of Carlisle . . Every year I would ride by the show and think . . Yep that is where I'm going.  Then ride another 40 minutes to the hotel . .

Question for everyone. This was my first trip to Carlisle and the show was great met alot of great people and was impressed with how well run the show was. My only complaint was the hotel prices we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express that is right off the turn pike exit not far from the fairgrounds. We had 3 nights starting on Thursday night rooms averaged $361 a night  :o are all the hotels that are close to the fairgrounds this expensive?

I stayed at Quality Inn at 1435 Doron Dr, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The cost was $80 a night. The 30 minute drive to the fairgrounds was a bit longer then I wanted though.

Sign me up!  $80 a night?!  Sweet . . Half an hour will be a nice cruise!     i just mapped it . .  Same distance as New Cumberland . . Just better rates!  Was it a nice hotel?  Large parking lot?

So I google mapped this area and with a 1/2 hour to 40 minute ride to the show, looks like there are 2 exits off the highway in Chambersburg and about 10 hotels.  I hope to come to the show in 2026 and will probably stay in this area . . Saves me a 1/2 hour off my ride out from Michigan as well.

The Hotel was clean, the staff friendly.  Other than the noise from the highway, which lulled me to sleep each night, my room was quieter than expected and hardly heard a sound from other guests.  Car wash, gas station and McDonalds are close by.

The parking lot to the left of the building (as you pull up) only had only a few cars parked there during my stay and appears to have enough space for a few car trailers (depending on the number of guests).  The road in front of the hotel may also be an option for trailer parking as well but you'd have to call and make sure.

You can book through June 30, 2026 on their website now.  July likely opens up in a few weeks and not October.  Most regular hotel websites let you book about 50 weeks prior.

I can't beat $80 per night but the aforementioned Hampton Inn in Mechanicsburg averaged $250 for the same 3 night stay - includes breakfast if you're not too picky

This one: 4950 Ritter Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055?  20 minutes from the fairgrounds.  Looks like it might be a way better option for trailer parking.  I like the covered walkway between the hotel and Isaac's Kitchen and Brewery.
