1972 steering column

Hi folks, need a little info.. l am ready to rebuild my column
And l watched the Cuda Cody video and it was helpful..however the column l see from him and others have shift or lockout tubes, mine does not, it's a floor shift..l believe it should not have one..am l correct ?

The column lock-out tube was used on ALL 1970 steering  columns regardless of transmission or shifter location....In 1971-74 the tube was only found on column shifted automatics
