helped chase down a water leak in a factory pink Barracuda convertible (originally FM3/H6XW/V3W 318 4-speed with AM/FM & A/C)

was surprised to see that the rear quarter water shields are formed to tuck behind the top springs (manual top)
& had "Rock" on both inner wheel houses  :takealook:  529-SPD "In Plant/In Process" 5/27/70

When I stripped the original interior out of my 1970 A66 convertible I found the name "Al" scrolled on my wheel wells.  Always wondered if any one else ever saw this name?

Well got under the car today and tightened the oil pan bolts and tranny pan bolts. Wiped down some of the undercarriage then looked at the
Boots on the ball joints and tie rod ends. They looked flattened so I picked up a grease gun and greased the front end.

The upper ball joint boots looked cracked almost like dry rot......All the rest looked fine.
Passenger side upper ball joint boot leaked out of the cracks, So I guess I need to replace the upper boots. Added that to my yo do list.

Can't really see the cracks in the pictures as they ballooned up when I pumped the grease in.
Also some rust appearing on bolt heads and parts of the undercarriage.
What can I use to stop any further rusting? Brush some Rustoleum on those areas?

Sue , you can use.
Tremclad or Rustoleum to cover some of the areas where rust is appearing .
Dorman should have replacement boots , most manufacturers won't sell the boot without the new part but why change the part if it is still good ?

The afternoon turned out sunny and warm so I took the car out for a spin. That's the tenth month in a row this year that it's been out, not bad for an Ontario car.

Shot my AAR spoiler with Cody's special urethane Organisol mix and technique.  Came out awesome!!!  Thank you Cody for taking the time and expense to show us how to achieve this look in single stage urethane.  Very much appreciated.  :worship:  Can't wait to get in the booth and do the top of the hood, fenders, doors, tail panel etc.      Eddie

Well, it got up to 81F today if you can believe that for southern Ontario in October! After blowing off the dust from sanding son Nick's Acura's 1/4's, I checked the oil and got the old gal out of the garage, just like Murray did. Drove to Kitchener (bad idea @ 4pm) where I filled it with gas and then putted in the traffic back home for a trip to the grocery store, where some young buck complimented me on the car before I loaded the groceries in and went back home. I may have also gotten a lead on another 360 roller block to get the stroker engine back on track.   :woohoo:

This really surprised me with all its rumbling.

Being that my car is the car on for October in the calendar... I have taken it out and enjoyed the shit out of it everyday possible.

I went to the store yesterday, parked in the back.  Lady came up to me and said "Very nice, but I am surprised that you would take it to a grocery store?"  So I replied "Thank you, it drives much better on the roads than in the garage"  we both laughed and off I went.

When I left two cop cars pulled behind and aside me, one looked over and gave me the thumbs up and the other gave me a quick flash of the high beams as if to say "Nice ride".  All in all, good day!

Added, IMO, a more appropriate centre cap decal to my Torq-Thust M's.

Was working on cold and hot start settings and could not figure out why my hot engine idle was 1000+ even though the idle stops were not touching the throttle body. MAP values looked ok, IAC is completely closed. Chased the vacuum leak down to the intake manifold bolts being loose. Looks to have loose after a few heat cycles. After a few minutes of looking up the torquing sequence, the car idles at 750-800.

First thing I would check when tuning an engine was the intake bolts
