That place is not far from me.  It's an interesting place to visit.  Lots of perfumed pigs there but some decent cars in their inventory too.

I agree Chris, anybody that thinks this car is only worth $45K does not follow 1971 Barracuda convertible pricing very closely ....

I'm sticking with my high 50's appraisal barring catastrophe underneath.

Volo museum usually has their cars priced competitively but who knows what there are like in person.  The effort put into the photos is decent.

So in yal's valuations of this car.  Are you taking in account that there is no fender tag information? no build sheet info? matching numbers on body?  matching numbers motor or trans? Was this a green car?  Is there a window sticker?
this is a BH coded car.  so less value than a bp or a bs.      Or is that trumped since it's a convertible.

The car is a total recreation of a cuda.  But it's a bh.  fenders are wrong.  Probably had a flat hood.

Awesome looking car.  I hope to own a convertible cuda one day.

So the Hagerty valuation guide is wrong?  I would be more inclined to stick within roughly $5K of the Hagerty value, over what others say.  I plugged in a 71 Barracuda convertible with 383 HiPo 4bbl and the value is in the photo.

Nothing sucks more than overpaying for a vehicle and finding you can't insure it for the paid price or worse paying for a restored car and finding you got burned later.

This is not a restomod. It is an optionmod...

Regardless of everyones opinions. It has not sold. Thus price is too high for what it is or has been made into.
I get and agree with "make it what you want" on a non numbers and low option car. Just don't expect everyone else to pay for "your" idea of an car.
I would expect that the masses who have looked and passed on it had to figure in the extra costs to de-option it to their liking.
Back to point of being over priced.
Price is valid if it matches your want. But not with changes required.

This car just has to wait for the right buyer. It certainly is priced near the bottom of what 71 verts sell for, but like many people has said it is buyer specific. Any running/driving and presentable 71 is going to be expensive, just spend a few hours looking around and you will find that getting one for under $60k is just about impossible. They just didn't make very many of them, and have become arguably the most desired of all mopars. Wanna be really impressed? Check out what real BS 71 verts go for, even h code cars start around $70k!

A Challenger convertible has no where near the value of a Cuda convertible.  :alan2cents:

I've never understood that since they are so similar.

^^^^I remember back in the day all my friends watched NASH BRIDGES television series from 1996- 2001. Don Johnson and Cheech cruised around in a 71 Hemi Cuda convertible. The series helped generate a lot of interest in Cudas...myself included. Prices soared.

To get back on topic: If the ebody is missing its fender tag and door frame tag a California buyer will have to take it to the CHP Referee Station or DMV for vin verification. Plus, any out-of-state vehicle has to go through this process. They check all numbers on the vehicle to see if there is a lien or theft report. Hopefully driver will get to take it home. Just went through this with my Challenger.

So with the fender tag and possible door tag missing, and having a different power train, different body parts, gaudy billboard originally didn't come with, and loud engine bay brace, engine custom bolt-on's, no underside pictures of chassis, no picture of driver's side dash vin number, raises uncertainty and eyebrows about this car trying to command such a high price. It is a crap shoot as far as investment potential. A must see car with an appraiser to do a survey .
