Looking at restoring this wiper motor and heater blower motor

Can someone please explain the process to restore the wiper motor and correct finish

For a 70 challenger

Dakota

I can only help a little on your question.

I rebuilt my wiper motor (also from a 70 Challenger) in 2016.  At that time, there was a lady named Kim that ran Passion4Mopars out of Florida that could provide restoration services as well as parts if you wanted to do it yourself.   Her website is no longer active, so it appears she's out of business.

Mounting nuts and the white wiring terminal connector are available through eBay.   A replacement ground strap can be found here:

ECS has a dry transfer label available for wiper motors.

There are wiper motor restoration services available through eBay and elsewhere, but I suggest you review the thread below as there is another forum member @Ns1aar  based in the U.S. and Stephan Fournier in Canada that do restorations.

I used a kit from Eastwood to paint my wiper motor housing.  It's never going to fool anyone as being properly plated by it works for me.

The wiring on my wiper motor was in pretty bad shape, so that was the main thing I focused on replacing.   The rest of the work involved lots of cleaning and re-lubricating.

Good luck with it.

If you choose to restore it yourself, a good cleaning will reveal all the correct finishes, there's a few different coatings, so you'll have to find yourself a good plater to do it correctly  :alan2cents:

If you need parts like wire sleeves, grommets, grommet inserts I've bought those from both Topher McGinnis and Bruce Somer. They're both in the wiper motor restoration business so it's unsure how long they'd be willing to sell their inventory.

Topher (yes, the website name is confusing)

Nice job!
It is hard to tell from the picture, but make sure your switch plate is clocked correctly.
Picture is from '71 FSM
