I have the 71' AM/FM radio.

The chrome on the dials are beginning to wear showing plastic underneath.
Other than that, it works pretty good for it's age.

Is this a difficult repair? Or can it be done if you know your way around a car well?

Would be great if we had a tutorial on re doing these.

I've always just had Greg do them.     :sorry:  I can't help much with this one.

O.K. that's plan B.

My initial thinking is: If i can re-build a carb, I can re- build a radio.

TopCat......... There's a stereo install shop here in Riverside Ca. Called the Audio Shoppe, the owner is real knowledgeable on stereo radios of all types including the classic stereo radios. Went into his shop one day and asked him what it would cost to update and modify my R35 A/M F/M roll dial. I was told about $1,000. Would take care of everything. Depending on where you are located you could give him a call just for the info. Good guy to talk to and real smart on rods and custom installation and muscle cars.       Thanks,   Al

What kind of lead time was it when you sent it to Ward's?

I could send it this Winter provided I get it back in Spring.

I just sent two AM radios to Wards....Before I actually got around to checking the tracking to see if they arrived safely....Greg was contacting me for payment.....I should get them back this week...
His turn around time was "days" not weeks or months....

I thought he didn't deal with Canucks?

News to me, I've had lots of radios done by him and always mailed to my CDN address  :dunno:
