Everybody is all stuck on the Rev N Nator it sounds like.

I decided not to get it because I recall in the beginning when I was in the market, some members had problems with them.

I don't hear many talking about the FBO/4 seconds flat system.
Not one problem ever reported.

It's made in the U.S.A., comes with a 3 year warranty, 12 volt high output voltage, re curved distributor option, fits OEM harness, adjustable Rev limiter.

It's a no  brainer.   :alan2cents:

As with the Rev-N-Ator
I purchased 5 systems from FBO a number of years ago
All of them were removed over a short time , I had failures with the ECU on 4 of them &  I tested the FBO against the Chrome box On the dyno & our suspicions by feel were confirmed  the Chrome box made more power . So who did not report the failuers myself ,Yes I contacted Don about the problems , Don maybe not .
So not one problem ever reported by whom ?? Of course I was in Canada so maybe Canadian problems don't count ?
Maybe like Rev n ator  Dons product has improved but I have been reluctant to buy from FBO since & at least Rev n ator warrantied their failed ECUs unlike Don

I never heard anyone before on CC.com report a problem on them.
I've been there watching almost every thread since 04'.

Maybe you should call Don and ask him if it was upgraded or improved.
I did a search and never found anything.

Generally i expect new products to have some issues , no matter how much you test on a limited scale the real world will show up weaknesses , but ... Big BuT I expect some support which Rev-N-ator did do & Don Did Not do which is why I no longer ever recommend him , I do not feel he is honest as he left my customers hung out to dry after taking over 1K of my $$ for products that failed  :alan2cents:

I ran a Firecore ignition system in my 440 Charger....great piece of Kit...

I'll contact you in 3-4 years and get you an update on how many failures that didn't occur.

In my opinion I really feel you are over exaggerating issues.
Please show me any other complaints others have had besides yours.

Chryco Psycho

ok maybe I am exaggerating but 100% failure rate 10 years ago is exaggerating with no warranty support at all ?
maybe he has solved the issue now or not but this is why I don't recommend him .
hopefully he has solved the issues

I'm about to install a Pertronix setup in a 1970 car.

I installed the Pertronix Flame Thower II on a mild 383. While the reliability has been fine. I don't like the way the car starts. It has to do a couple of rotations before it hits off. I like a engine that hits right off with a bump of the key. I like a chrome box and MSD Blaster 2 coil.

I have Firecore dist and 8.5mm wires on my 505 ci in my Charger and love it!

email Ron at ron.wilson1@live.ca.  Mancini also carries them.

I think you all are right. Probably gonna go with the Revnator and fairly stock dist

I have ran MSD on a bunch of vehicles. I think it's great stuff and the only problem I have ever had was a Digital 6 box failed after about 2 weeks. This was when they first came out. Put a replacement on and never had another issue.  I think the standard 6AL box is just about bullet proof. Probably installed a dozen and have yet to see a failure.
