Hello,

I ended up dropping my oil pan on my 73 with engine in the car after jacking it a few inches.

I've got a new 4 piece set of mildon gaskets and has a question. I read everyone raving about the right stuff so I bought a big tube of that.

What's the best technique? I was thinking after prepping the surfaces, laying a bead in the pan and place the gasket on top of that and letting it cure, then placing a bead on the gasket and installing the pan/gasket assembly onto the engine.

Anything wrong with this? Better ways? Like everyone I really don't want to have to do this again.

Thanks!

Rich G.

Don't let the sealer cure before you put it together.

I use the Right Stuff all the time and install it before it cures.

the banana seals interlock with the side gaskets so I recall you have to install on the block first & put the pan on after

That's a great point. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow so I think I'll start with the block side and go from there.

Thanks!
