Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a 383 & 440 kickdown linkage? I guess the length of the longest rod is probably supposed to be different. I'm having trouble getting my Challenger to down shift into the passing gear. It was a 383 car and now has a 440. I suspect the kickdown linkage they used may be a 383 linkage. We adjusted it to be as long as possible and it still isn't doesn't seem long enough. If anyone has a measurement of each so I can be 100% sure before I buy another one I would appreciate it.

Sorry don't have a whole lot of info I didn't build it. It was originally a 383 RT that was upgraded to a 440. I don't know anything about the transmission.

I might have one, will look later today. Did you measure the one that you have?

Montclaire

Top one is 13" from tip to tip without the extension. That's the longest one I have. Shaft is definitely B or RB.

I should be able to get it on a lift this weekend and have a better look. I will pull it off and measure it as well. I feel like it's the shorter one that's on there now.
