What are you all using for gasket dressing? I'm wanting to install my timing cover. A "friend" said use Permatex form-a-gasket #2. Long story short I tried, got injured and failed to get it in position to get all the bolts started but it was stuck on...... I had to go get stitches. Came back to it the next morning and after removing the bolts that were started it took a pretty good whack to break it loose. Is there a better gasket product to use? TIA

I have been using Aviation Form-a-Gasket, it is similar to Indian Head Shellac which I also like.  You will want to coat the threads of the bolts that go into water jackets with a non-hardening sealer though.
