Let me know if I should post pics.  Rubber broke on mount closet to engine block on driver side.  Engine jumped so high air cleaner stud dented my freshly hood pretty bad... :bricks: :Thud: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I dont want this to happen again.  Hood is getting repainted.

So I have done a ton of research and I am even more confused.

Its only a mild 340, but I am very mean to my car, I drive it aggressively basically every time I go for a drive.

Here is what I have found on this site.

@7212Mopar   Talked a lot about fitment issues and it was unclear if he resolved his issues as he bought some mity mounts, are these also known as poly loc mounts?

@303 Mopar  recommended these on a thread vs the poly mounts that might vibrate too much

Found someone online recommending these for the driver side....  https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-62540/overview/

Sorry for all the questions, I am sure there are lots of opinions, but I have never had this problem and I am willing to spend the money necessary to hopefully correct this problem long term.

Thank you very much in advance.

Sorry in advance for all the questions

1. Do I want stock or fixed mounts?
2. Is a torque strap necessary if I use a stock engine mounts?
3. If I stay with stock, do I have to buy a complete engine mount set or can I just buy new rubber (my actual brackets are not broken)? @MoparDave Recommended one reasonably priced rubber in this thread vs the poly as they are cheaper and he has never heard a complaint

Thanks again, maybe you can just list some parts you recommend I buy.  Again I can take pics if necessary.

@Shane Kelley maybe you can chime in as you seem to have a pretty nasty 340 so I am assuming you have thought of something durable.

:thankyou:

I would use a stock replacement mount for the drivers side only & use the torque strap to prevent failure
the other 2 options are Poly loc  or Mity mounts which interlock internally  & supposedly cannot fail but they still do fail so back to the tq strap
If you install the strap as I suggested the type of mount really will not matter as the starp will prevent the mount failing again

I installed Mancini HD mounts. Perfect fit. Better than stock. Cheap. Why not?

The mity mounts by Dynatech and the Polyloc by Schumacher are both interlocking type of different designs but should work the same. The intent of the design is to prevent complete separation when the rubber fails as in a stock rubber mount. CP recommendation of stock mount with torque strap might be a cheaper alternative. Schumacher makes them but they had been out of stock for a long time. You can visit their site to read the installation instruction to see how it works. You might be able to fabricate your own.

You can reuse the bracket mount to the engine. Only one bolt between the bracket and the motor mount. If I remember right, I think factory manual  says torque to 65 ft lbs. Best to look it up to be sure.

I've used the Moroso solid mount on the drivers side many times, Honestly I barely notice any vibration due the the solid mount...   Currently I'm running stock mounts that I modified slightly by welding a metal strap on which prevents failure...

I agree. I broke the stock mounts first time I got on the new motor. Mines a shaker car so lucky for me no hood issues. But I went with mancini mounts and so far no issues. I am and you should too if you want to beat no it put a strap in . Piece of mind

I have the Schumacher torque strap on my 340.
Cheap insurance no matter what mount you use.

I've used the Mancini Mag Mounts on 4 engines now and love them!

Thanks everyone.

This is all making sense.

A few questions, if I buy this one is it considered a fixed mount? OR does it have some cushion?  Do I just need to buy one for each side and it mounts to my current stock mounts?   http://www.manciniracing.com/benmaset.html  @kawahonda or @303 Mopar  Can you chime in?

If I buy stock like this one Dave recommended on here....https://forum.e-bodies.org/engine-transmission-and-rear-end/4/anyone-else-using-dynatechs-mitymounts/2481/  My question is do I just need the rubber piece?   Without the mount out I am confused on what I need to buy.

Im think something stock with the torque strap for insurance is what I want.   Thanks again.

The mag mounts are sold as a set, not individually. See, cheap!

They do have cushion, just like stock. The cushion material appears firmer than stock.

Direct replacement. They mount to your current stock holder plates, or whatever you want to call them.

I like my Dynatechs:

I did the same thing this weekend.  I was using the anchor mounts. Looks like the rubber popped clean off the metal.

I ordered the mag mounts form Mancini today.  decent price and look like good quality.  Got dinged for shipping, but I live in Canada so what are you gonna do!!!

I was going to go with the poly locs...but at 200 plus shipping, I passed!
