I have just visited the workshop that machined and assembled my 505, and we fired it up for the first time.
It started instantly after priming fuel and oil pressure. Warmed it up and checked leaks etc. All good. Dyno tune next week.

I researched and collected/imported all parts and am curious to see how the combination performs. I would like to share results, when they are in,  to help anybody else considering a similar build.

Engine 440 fully machined standard block is only used part.
Trickflow 240 heads
Trickflow cam ( 243/247 @50 and .640 lift ) Hydraulic roller
Edelbrock rpm intake heavily ported to match heads
AED 850 DP carb
Harland Sharp roller rockers
TTi headers, full 3" Stainless exhaust with Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers
440 Source 512 Stroker kit ( Bored .030 ) - Don't trust their balancing...
New Fuel tank and Magnafuel pump and reg
All ARP hardware
CRT Trans Reverse manual VB
TCI Outlaw shifter
Dynamic Converters 9 1/2 " Converter
3.55 Sure grip ( for now )
Hotchkis TVS and 1.1" Torsion Bars
Borgeson Steering box ( Bergman Autocraft )

I will report back when wheel alignment done and driving ( next week )

If anybody has any questions I would like to help, as I have been assisted with info while collecting parts and deciding on a plan of what to build.

Cheers

Looks like a great build , love the cam choice !!
SO did you find the 440 Source stroker was out of balance as delivered ?

RUNCHARGER

That should work well. I think my next car will be a 500 inch wedge with trickflows. It's a nice combo that performs well.

Sounds similar to my 505. I haven't had it on a Dyno yet, so I will be interested to see the numbers.

I paid for the balance because it was cheap and their website videos look cool all state of the art etc...
But I had it checked here, and although the rods were same weight they were unbalanced end to end. The whole kit needed full rebalancing by a trusted local shop. Expensive but gotta be done. Also the Trickflow heads needed work. 2 valves were not seating properly and some springs were not installed at correct height. They basically had to blueprint the brand new ( CNC ) heads!
My engine guy was for the most part impressed by the quality of the Stroker kit parts but reckons balancing was a waste of money...

My guy thinks the combo should be around 600hp /  600lb/ft. But the dual plane manifold and drop base air cleaner are the weak points. But I didn't want to go through the hood.

I going to guess 590 hp 620 TQ at the crank.

I would probably have used the Holley Street Dom intake instead .

gravyboy

I believe the Holley Street Dominator is a solid single plane manifold that is fairly short ( shorter than RPM?)
I was tempted, but as this is a 99% street car I am not too worried about top end HP and from what I have read the RPM matches or beats any single plane under 4500 rpm.
Too late now as the workshop have put several hours labour into porting my RPM manifold ( the Trickflow ports are a bit bigger ) so the intake probably owes me $800NZ by now...

If I feel top end power is sacrificed too much I will change intakes later and decide whether to go through the hood or not...

RUNCHARGER

I don't think you'll be disappointed. A stroker build for the street should be engineered to take advantage of lowend grunt anyway IMO. The 600/600 sounds realistic to me. I really like the whole build, that seems like a streetable setup that should kick some serious butt. Let us know how that convertor works with the camshaft, I'm curious if it would like a slightly tighter convertor or not.

You would not lose anything with the Street Dom intake , especially with the extra CI of the stroker build , but what us done is done .

That's going to be fun! My 512 is similar with most of the
Hotchkis parts, it's a total animal on the street.

Wow that's a lot of valve lift for a street engine? I wonder how tough it will be on valve springs? Sounds like it's going to be a beast! Order rear tires now!  :)

RUNCHARGER

I ran 650 lift on my 528 in the green car too. I don't like to starve strokers. You are right though, it is bound to require valve springs once in awhile.

I only have 235/50-17 on the back now. Thinking about the Nitto NT-05. Any comments?
I wanted the offset shackle kit but I gather it is not compatible with the Hotchkis leaf springs so 275/40-18 might be my max
