I was at B-J today...
That blue AAR clone was a mess, IMO.
That 74 Challenger that sold for $170k was an outrageous amount for a car that should have topped out at 40k! I hope the former owner grabbed his cash and celebrated.
That 70 Charger was not an R/T...
the constant use if 'custom', or 'upgraded', as recent replacement terms for clones, and tributes is just another way to catch the uneducated buyer...it's very disappointing.

I haven't look at the Dodges yet...

If anything, someone ruined one of the rarest E bodies by modding the heck out of it and changing it completely from original.
Sort of like if I took my convertible and put a hemi in it and had it painted pink or purple!
But if I did maybe someone would pay $200,000 for it at BJ.

It was a little tongue in cheek. I wouldn't pay $187K for any musclecar, any brand, any engine. But....72-74 Mopars never get the respect they deserve. IMHO.

There are several ways to look at that.
During Mecum there was a thread going on forbbodies only lamenting the sky high prices being paid for Mopar muscle there, guys posting they were priced out of the hobby, glad they got their cars years ago when they could afford one etc.
A friend of mine recently sold his pretty nice original survivor '78 Supercoupe  for a hair over 20 grand.
I bought one of the nicer '78 Magnums in existence in that price range in 2021.
If one has aspired to own a hemi cuda or a '69 Daytona or even a 440 Charger R/T, then yes unless you are blessed with pretty deep pockets you are priced out and out of luck.
But if you want a nice fun and unusual car of any brand including Mopars, there are cars out there that are within the budget of anyone with any discretionary moneys.
I get similar joy out of taking the T tops off my Magnum and heading to a show or cruise on a nice day as I do putting the top down on my Challenger convertible and doing the same and the fact the Challenger is worth 3 to 4 times the Magnum has 0 bearing on the amount of pleasure.
So be careful what you wish for, if the later E bodies and other cars start getting the respect and prices one hopes they deserve, we may find ourselves in a situation where most everyone is actually priced out of the hobby instead of just saying they are.
