In 1970 the N97 noise reduction went across the boards and included all 440+6 and hemi equipped cars sold in California. Did not include U code or 440 four barrel.

but it was handled differently on B-bodies VS. E-bodies
- on B-bodies it was extended to the air cleaner (non-N96 unit was used with fresh air hoods) & N42 was an available OPTION on 440+6 B-bodies with N97 (HEMI resonators were included)

to reduce "noise"

 wonder how/if Sport Fury GTs with 440+6 engines were affected?

I find it kind of amusing in a way ... like turning down the exhaust tips really made these cars any quieter??  :crazytalk:
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

I'm with you there. Like there is NO way the sound from the exhaust would ever bounce off cement or asphalt roads.   :unbelievable:
