This car isn't getting a paint job, my 70 Barracuda will be. I've always loved B5, but now owning the B5 dart, I know I want the Barracuda to also be B5

One thing that helps the "beak nosed" cars is to move the bumpers in closer to the body. The same thing a lot of people do to the 73-74 E-bodies. I think your car uses the collapsible shocks as bumper mounts doesn't it? I wonder how hard it would be to push those in an inch or two?

I have thought of it and did it to a friends 74 duster about 10 years ago. Then I did it by slotting the bumper to frame mounts and sliding it back. This go round I may just cut 2" out of the canisters and reweld them to tuck in the bumper.

Think it would make a good difference?

I think it would look better. Chrysler Corp made some cool cars in the mid/late 70s but the bumpers were just odd looking. The Aspen/Volare cars for example. Neat looking car with rediculously huge bumpers.

Your car should look a lot better by just moving the bumpers in a little. The Aspen/Volares need the bumpers shortened in width too. They are a lot longer then the width of the car.

Very true! And I happen to have a 77 volare here too, just as you said, it's really wide

Agreed: The grille treatment isn't bad. The bumpers are the problem. I too think the Aspens and Volare's were actually a pretty good looking car for the period.

Testing the rebuild of the instrument cluster. I used @cuda cody s testing methods during the rebuild. I'm fairly pleased with the results. A little black trim paint and the warning isolator installed and she will be good enough for a driver.

Started to rebuild the 3 speed wiper switch



New ABS backed headliner came in and I was thoroughly impressed. Why isn't this offered for E bodies?! Gran coupes and challenger SE's would have a cost effective replacement. Period correct vinyl wrapped, shipped to my door for $240 from rockauto.

Are all A-body headliners like that?  Mine is a convertible so I never really thought about it.  There is a fiberglass headliner board available for E-bodies.  You have to cover it with material yourself.  Not sure the cost either.

Just 73/74-76 had the hard board headliners in the A body.

I remember looking into SE headliners a while back and they were around $1,000 for my Gran Coupe
