My cousins grandkid goes to a mechanics school here in Sweden, cars and heavier trucks, he wants to do his 3rd year in the US as an exchange student. Anyone aware of any good schools for mechanics? Can be anywhere in the US.

There's a few that recruit nationally, but it's been awhile since I've seen an ad for one.    WyoTech is probably the most well known; at least, for me that's the first one that comes to mind.

But, I would say "What part of the US does he want to see and live in?" because there are local vocational schools across the entire country that have dedicated auto mechanic, farm mechanic, diesel truck mechanic programs that are quire good at what they do.   Some are better then others, so do a bit of research.   I'd say that he should be able to find one in or near any part of the US he wants to visit.

UTI is by far the biggest and most popular tech school program and they are partnered with most of the OEM's.  They have tons of locations.  Wyotech has gone down hill big time over the last decade.  I think they are down to one campus only now and are still struggling.

Oh yea, UTI!  forgot about them too.

Unique, highly rated college that offers a 4 year degree in all aspects of car restoration. Goes beyond just the mechanical skills! Just for comparison.

This school has been featured on some "Power Nation" car shows I've seen in TV and YouTube.  I think they specialize around engine building.   I don't have any direct knowledge if they're good or bad.

It has been a long time that I graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College (1968.) They now operate under Lincoln Tech.
I was very satisfied with the school when I attended.
