My 1TB hard drive went nuclear.    Only 6 months use. Lucky for me the local guy could pull all my files out before swapping the drives. Granted (technically) it was still under warranty. But if I'd sent it in all my files would be gone. For me keeping my shit was worth the expense.

I back up all my crap to a external HD, CD and the Cloud.
Can't be to careful when your relying on this technology for everything.
