Lower steering column

It's designed to move up and down inside the coupler.... so clamp it on.  So once it's installed on the gear box you will just need to move it up or down so it aligns with the pin.  It really does not matter where it is right now.  It will be moved to the perfect spot when you install it.   :bigthumb:

It's packed full of grease so I'm assuming it's lubed plenty.

Sometimes hard to get the housing over and clamp the pegs over.

Yup I did the same, worked great. Bought it on ebay for cheap as dirt.

The coupler was probably one of the most frustrating parts of my front end rehab. I just couldn't get the clips to stay on. Stick with it, you'll get it!

The shoes are designed to float inside the coupler so it doesn't matter where it is now , it will find the right place once it is installed , the nice part about doing the work yourself is now you have the knowledge to help others
