The best thing to do for this would be to do a custom 3D printed box for the passenger side, plenty of room for the box at 7.25", just need to figure out the cable routing and if it would work.

I looked at the drivers side and thats a no go to move it. That and the cable thing someone pointed out. Thanks for that 7.25" space measurement. I am going to see if I cut my heater box off at the end of the fresh air part and seal that end up, if it will fit. The box is broken already so nothing ventured, right???

Thanks again!!

So the picture you show is the va factory location?
I relocated mine slightly and also put the heater control valve inside cabin up in that area. Had too much going on under hood already.

I have the non-factory air system if that's what you mean? I only have the cabin box installed for now, no time to figure out the rest of the installation at the moment as I'm moving soon and need to get other stuff installed

You could cut a flat plate from ABS/PVC to fit and cover the opening.  Then purchase a dust collector blast gate, drill and fit the gate into the plate.  Fit a cable to open/close the gate.  Those blast gates are normally 4-inch diameter.  Seems like it might work.

The kit comes with the block off plastic plate in the picture, it could be modified or used as a template

So these pictures are of the unit mounted on the firewall in it's final postion? If so, looks like I have to go Vintage air. Classic's box is much longer so there would be no way to put any kind of fresh air inlet on the passenger side.
Thanks,
Bob

Correct, that is it's final location.

Understood on it being va unit. Just was questioning that your install of it is per their suggested location. IE not relocated custom for your needs.

100% from their instructions. It has to go in a specific spot for the hoses to route through the round plate that covers the old blower motor hole. I was able to get the box installed myself, but it is a pain in the ass reaching up over the cowl into the engine bay to get the screws in and lining up the holes. The crappy part for me, I installed it as a placeholder for now which means I'm going to have to remove it all again when I do the real finishing install, LOL.

Cool. Just confirming for others mostly. I relocated mine slightly to passenger side. All exit lines are custom locations due to all the other engine shenanigans going on.
Yes, complete pain to install alone. I ended up using a short 2x4 as a wedge block from floor to pin it in place.
