Jay M. Here. Thanks for including me. From North Mississippi. Starting to put my 72 Barracuda together. It Took over 5 years and 3 paint shops to get to this point. Bare hull looks great. I did not take it apart. I am not sure if all the parts are still there, or where they go .  I purchased a lot of stuff at the beginning. Now I am finding out what else is needed as I struggle through reassembly. I am in need of a heater a/c box, as mine was apparently broken during removal and I can't find the broken off piece. I will be trying to navigate the site to find parts and information. I will also be using everyones posts here as a reference. Thanks y'all!, Jay M.

Welcome nice project. I feel the pain from body shop to body shop I know myself it's a hard road sometimes. Looks like you are well on your way looks great . Loving that colour

Welcome! I have a `72 Barracuda as well. The heater box can probably be repaired with fiberglass. What is the plan for the build - stock, modified?

I can not find the missing piece! It is the snorkel tubes that the evaporator core tubes feeds through as they enter the firewall. No clue as to how to fabricate that.  I did not disassemble the car, 1st paint shop did it.
Will build as original as possible. Original color. Extended Family car since new. Base model Barracuda, Gold metallic ext, light gold int, 318, his & hers auto, air, purchased in Memphis. First pic is where it sat for years. Next pic is on rotisserie in my shed. Notice the Cuda emblem on the front fender. The passenger side has a Barracuda emblem on the door. Was like that when new. Assembly line error. Kinda unique.

More pics. After the dash and firewall stuff, brakes are next. Then I am thinking headliner. I need 8 tail light mounting studs & nuts if anyone knows where i can find them. I found the nuts, no joy on the studs.

Nice to see an update! Sure looks nice and clean! Is the glove box and ash tray supposed to be body colour? I always thought they were interior  colours? Black, blue, burnt orange etc.... maybe it's a 72-74 thing?

Notice the Cuda emblem on the front fender. The passenger side has a Barracuda emblem on the door. Was like that when new. Assembly line error. Kinda unique.

I'm a '70 guy but AFAIK there was no "Cuda" emblem on the left front fender. Actually, I believe no year had that, but a "Cuda" was one on the taillight panel. For 1972 the "Barracuda" emblem on the door is correct, maybe another '72 owner could chime in and verify that.

Thanks guys. My Bro N Law purchased this car new. He said everything is as it was when purchased new in Memphis. The dash paint is the original gold metallic (GY8) color as is the exterior color. The dash pad was originally light gold (Y3) as is the interior color. It is in terrible shape. The center console was light gold (Y3).  I was unable to purchase a new pad, so, I found a used black pad and black center console to replace the original one that was also damaged beyond repair. I may or may not paint the dash pad and center console light gold to match the rest of the interior. I have not decided yet.  Not sure about the barracuda/cuda emblems other than what i was told.
