Sounds like it has 95% of what you are looking for & you want a project not a driver & for almost 1/2 asking it seems to make sense to me

Hey, great topic of conversation at dinner tonight.   :bradsthumb:

It's not often you can buy any car these days for under $5K in my opinion. I think it's a great starting point.

I think the problem is not with this car it's with YOU.....I get the feeling you're not sure whether or not you really want another project ...it's nice to dream and think about it, but not always a good idea to bite the bullet and actually build it. :alan2cents: :console:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I m pretty sure Brad is bored & has no doubts about another project
it has more to do with the problems it will cause with another family member

A bit of both.... more so the wife issue and lack of storage at the house till I can build a shop. I'm dying to dive into another project! I'm bored! Challenger is done except for a complete paint job. I'd rather have the Javelin than paint for the Challenger.
The city has taken 15 feet off the front of my yard to widen the road and paid me 40k for the land. That should be enough to build a 25x30 or 25x40 shop..... I haven't received the money yet tied up with lawyers  but I know for sure it's coming in the next few weeks ( Lawyer was on holidays)

When are you moving south ?
You are lie me cannot sit still , I get a day off OK I can relax maybe watch a movie but 2 days like that I have to find something to do with my time , Going to Georgia seems like a workout but it was exactly what I really needed , I still have grin on my face !!

I'm in the building/remodeling business and there is no doubt you can skim 50% of the cost of the car from the land/shop money, and the rest from the bank account. That way you get the car, shop and the wife only rides your a$$ for 3 months instead of 6.  Do the deal

I'm excited for you Brad. Go with the big shop as you seem to like to tinker.  Good luck.  I bet you were thinking the guy was going to be like "are you kidding me with your offer" but sure enough he was interested.

As much as I'd like to get out of this bankrupt socialist hell hole it would take quite a bit more money and 3 almost adult kids to consider..... maybe retirement buy a place down south for the winter and more sort of a thing? Go in with one of my kids on a house up here maybe? For now I'll keep on buying the occasional lottery ticket? LOL
Yep we are a lot alike. Tinkering on cars is like therapy for me, takes my mind off other troubles. I so enjoy making stuff with my own two hands. I like it when people say that won't fit or that won't work or can't be done sort of a thing. No such thing as "can't"  :D
I'll have to talk more with the wife today as he is texting me wanting to deliver it! LOL I haven't given him a firm yes yet. I am hoping to end up with it though..... :)

My brother lives in this town a couple miles from Collier AMC.
I need to ask if anything has changed recently, year ago still had cars onsite,
Grew up driving Rambler and Matador.

Are you thinking metal building for the shop ?

I am in the buy it camp!

Oh and build the shop...I have seen your garage.

I get the need for a project, I love tinkering with my car too and would love a project car, I just dont have the space, well or the money...or the time really. :bricks:

Cant wait to see what you do to this one!

I MIGHT HAVE THE ANSWER!  if you want the wife on board with the Jav, tell her that.  And ask what it will take to make that happen.  Hopefully it is something easy like staining the deck and not a trip to Turks and Caicos or an Hermes bag or whatever the cool chicks do these days.

I try never to give personal advice so this is just my opinion on what I would do in the same situation. Being a responsible family man is a huge priority. If it was me I would make a huge effort into building a proper shop and if another project car right now was pushing my wife's buttons I would back off. One thing I have found in life is that car projects come and go and there is always some cool project coming up better than the last.

40 ft shop for sure! You'll never regret it.
I'm staying out of the car conversation. Good luck with your decision.
