Steering column conversion

I have a 72 Barracuda with a column shift automatic.  I want to move to floor shift.  What do I need to make the column look right?  Do I leave the shifter tube alone and cut off unneaded lever in engine compartment.  I am shortening the shaft for a PS box conversion  thanks

The shaft is collapsible because it's designed to telescope in an accident.  But you can collapse it and then re-glue it so it's the length of a PS shaft. 

As for the switch from column shift to floor shift, really the only thing you need is the set of collars.  @TONY  sells the collars and has both 1970 and the 1971-1974 available.

1971 and up should not have a lockout tube so you should be good to go with those parts.  While you're in there be sure to check if the turn signal switch is working.  Easy to replace if you're already in there.

you show what seems to be 3 sections.  My column has 2.  All Ebay listings show 2 parts.  Am I missing something?

@Ramcharger32348   do you have a photo of what you have now?  Just want to make sure it's an E-Body and what year it is.

Yes, you need the complete set of three if you are replacing a column shift.

My column looks like the green one cant see gear indicator on black on although looks same.  I have trouble sending pics.  Lucky can even use this forum lol.  My tech is cars not computors or smart phones.  But I am sure it is a 72 Barracuda.  It's all original  thanks

why do people cut column shift column when I am looking for one for monthes ..... too bad I am in France, maybe I will fly to buy one lol !!
