I am looking to change the wheel & tire combo on my 1970 Cuda. It currently has 225/50/16 front and 245/50/16 rear and can't decide between 15" or 17" wheels. I am leaning toward the 17x9 Year One Rallye wheels and try to fit a 245/55/17 front and 275/55/17 rear. I have 3 objectives with this change.
1. Get away from the odd 16" tire size.
2. Get a taller tire to help with RPMs.
3. Get a wider tire to help with traction.

I have searched the forum for hours looking at different post but don't find many FC7 Cudas with after market wheel. I would like to see some your FC7 Cudas with non OEM style wheels.

Thanks in advance!

personally I think a black wheel would look mean on that car :alan2cents:
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

No doubt I would go to 17 " , for a sticky tire I would look at Nitto 555 tires . Magnums might look cool 5 spoke & black , 100s of choices

Old school Centerlines worked for me for many years.

I'm just not a fan of Magnums on my car, although they do look nice on some rides.  Anlauto, I really like the look of your Cuda with the rallye wheels. What tire size are you running and did you go with the 8" wheel with 4.5" backspacing or the 9" with 5" backspacing?

I've bought seven sets of those now. I use the staggered set, 8"'s and 9"'s  225/50R/17 on the front and 255/50R/17 on the rear.

I have two more sets waiting to go on cars, including these monsters which I had widened to 12" and added 345 tires...

@anlauto,
On your `71 Cuda 392 convertible...
Did you order the Goodyear Polyglas tire lettering and add it to modern tires in 17"?
