K members (or sometimes called K Frames) are not very hard to find here in the states, but over there it might be a bit of work.  Whenever I see them at swap meets I'm always passing them up as they are so heavy and hard to store easily.  If I recall they go for around $75 to $250.

Make sure you get the right one.  Sometimes there is a "coin" on the front that tells you what it fits and you can find a small 4 digit date stamps too.  It's a number like "3179" = 317th Day of 1969.

Thanks for the info Cody, You guessed it nothing here! The only new one's I've seen are tubular but they just don't look strong. Not to mention expensive!

Probably cost more than the k-frame to get it over there  :dunno:

Shipping must be ugly for sure. As a Canadian and knowing how much more it costs to do a car here I have nothing but respect for the guys overseas. They are true dedicated enthusiasts.

Thanks Runcharger, yep shipping is a killer to the UK. Shipping, duty and VAT @20% of the total price. My stroker motor cost me £2500 on shipping from NJ  :verymad:

Ok, more work done today, quite a good day and no more crap found yet. Well apart from the trans tunnel bodge!

No wonder the LH front floor rotted with the idiot cutting it like that and not sealing it!  :verymad:

You sure got a lot of extra holes in the filrewall, gonna weld them up or replace? Your transtunnel looks way better than mine though, welded by a blind drunken monkey. Sometimes taking a car apart and find out what previous owners done is just pure comedy.

Really nice job so far.  Getting a ton done!

I agree.  They will fit both big and small block.  The 70 to 72 are the same and have the sway bar mounting holes too.  All you would need to do is put the skid plate on the bottom if you want it to look like a 440 K Frame.   :bigthumb:  Going to be hard to find a better price then $100 for a K Frame if it's in good shape.

Thanks for the link, I need one for a 440 though.

They are the same.
