I can get a K-member shipped to Sweden for about 50 bucks, you need to hook up with someone that ships cars in containers and ask them to put it in the trunk of a car. It takes 6-8 weeks but its worth it, I just plan ahead and take my time. Just got my trunk floor and extensions, that cost me about 80 bucks in shipping and taxes.

Here is stock -73, yes it's an overlap.

Thanks Cuda Cody and Soundcontrol for confirming the floor overlap, much appreciated. I was wondering if it was another bodge.

Thanks also to Torredcuda and Runcharger, you are of course right the K member is the same. However mine has some extra welding which today I've discovered was to cover some cracks!

So to pick your brains, seeing as I have to replace the K member, the control arms, the pins, possibly the upper and/or lower A arms (not checked yet) and the camber bars. Would I be better in the long run going for a tubular set up or is it of no real benefit? If I did go tubular it would def have to wait until funds were available.

Bit more done today

Found another small wasp nest in the frame rail. What do you guys think about the cowl, repairable or should I change it?

Also a better pic of the bend in the RH rail

Hard to say about the cowl/firewall. Have you checked the inside of the firewall? This is what happened to my 73 after sandblasting, this looked like surface rust before, but obviously it was very thin. I see you have some holes where the dirt and moist sits, inside can be the same.

Oh crap! Thanks, I'll have a check inside tomorrow

Poke it hard with a screwdriver. Mine is like that all the way.

I'm a stock guy.  So if it was my car, I would just keep it stock with good factory parts.   :alan2cents:  But I can see why someone would make changes so it just depends on what you want to use the car for.

So, have you hacked the rails off this thing? Not that they were paragons of virtue to begin with. What's it like getting gear out of Sweden? Maybe Sound Control's guy could toss a K frame in one of his trunks for you? There's got to be someone on this site who's got a spare, but the big fly in the ointment is getting it to you and the place where it'd ship out of. I'll tell you what, I'll put my money where my mouth is and volunteer to pay $5 towards getting something to you and challenge (note the clever use of the word) other members here to match it. If the 20 somethings can crowd fund; why can't we?! If Cody set up an address, we could PayPal it. What say lads?  :fingerscrossed:

I don't want to hijack this guys thread but I guess one would not hurt. Here is a bar I did to match a customers pool table design.
Some people has it some dont, but you definitely  have it, wow what a great job
Get in, I'll drive

There is K-frames for sale now and then in Sweden, since we have so many e-bodies, there is a lot of parts. I saw one just last week. Not sure about shipping to UK, how much it is, and if there is sales tax. And not a problem to get one from US to Sweden. But Premix might need a lot more than the K-frame, maybe its cheaper to find a US-UK surface shipper?

Thanks for the kind offer jimynick but honestly it's ok, I'd feel guilty for accepting your money but thank you very much for offering.

I've managed to source a shipping guy over here so hopefully that'll cut down the costs a bit. He ships out of NY every few weeks  :bigthumb:

I found one on Ebay.com, he won't ship to the UK but I can ask if he'll ship to NY. This one look ok? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382018122425?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2661&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Cuda Cody

Ask him if the K Member has a coin on the front and what the number is?  That will tell you exactly what it came on originally.

I checked inside and luckily the only piece the screwdriver went into was directly behind the large holes. Even then it was only 3 small holes I could make.

He says no coin  ::)

Next week is the big 4 day swap meet in Portland.  I'll keep my eyes open for you.  Do you have someone in NY that it can be shipped to if I find one?  I'm guess it's not going to be cheap for me to ship it 3000 miles just to NY, but I'll help out if I can.

Do you have a budget you want to spend for one so I know what to look for?  I'm sure I can make some calls and find one too.  There's a lot of them out there.
