That's great news Steve.

Now can anybody confirm what style clamp was used on the breather hose ? The style Steve has in place or this style ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Like the one you post Alan, but that is a repro made one.

Finally got the headliner in. It took a week of work to get it all unwrinklized. The repro sail panels are crap, though. I ended up having to buy material directly from the manufacturer and will have to recover my originals. How do they expect a flat piece of carboard to conform to a three dimensional compound curve? And with a stick-on pocket to hold the metal clip??? Yeah that lasted all of two seconds before it ripped out of the back of the sail panel.

Anyway, here's the progress as of today...

Steve I never realized this car has white interior...I love it even more now. :drooling:

Funny you mentioned the rear sail panels...I've heard numerous complaints about these. I don't know if there are different manufactures for these, but I've been using Legendary Interior ones for years now with no issues whatsoever :dunno:
My interior guy does a bang-up job installing them with no complaints... :bigthumb:

Here's a 71 that is in my shop now, I just snapped these pictures...I think it looks good :dunno:

It was a black interior car but since everything needed to be replaced, I switched it up since I love the purple and white combination.

Did you dye the various panels, and plastic/metal trim parts to match? I am kind of a fan of the original look with all the different shades of off-white color.

The reproduction plastic interior panels - door, rear, and seat backs I got from Roseville are all the same off-white color which is different than the headliner and trim that I've painted. So it will look like a mix and match white when I'm done.

I used SEM White 15313 but its a little too bright to match. What color white are you using for the interior trim?

From looking here: https://forum.e-bodies.org/reference-material/18/1970-paint-data-interior-and-exterior/179/  , it looks like the correct interior paint color for 70 Mopar is Dove White 8743 or 169Y92. Does anyone offer this in a spray can? SEM equivalent?

Maybe Herbs Parts 1195 white?

With this particular car. The headliner/sail panels/seat covers are Legendary, the plastic interior panels are the New Metro plastic panels.

As for ALL the metal trim....for years I also used SEM Super White 15313, but I switched to Herb's Interior paints a few years back when he first introduced his new paint line. Now I wouldn't used anything but Herb's paints. :twothumbsup:

That's not exactly true..I still use SEM Landau black  :vipermanhiding:

I have to admit I'm surprised you would do that to such a rare original shaker car....but I guess if there's only one person you're building it for....then I say go for it....HANDS DOWN...purple and white look much nicer than purple and black any day :alan2cents:

This is a sample (not the best) of Herb's white interior paint right next to a new Metro door panel.

The door is new right out of the box. The rear is an original brown panel painted with Herb's white.

You can see a slight difference with the rear panel being a little more "grey" while the front panel is a little "warmer" for lack of better terms..

Yeah, I'm doing this car just for my amusement so that's why I chose to swap the interior color to white - my all-time favorite combination. And I'm doing some Day 2 stuff to it, like vintage mag wheels and a 1972 Mopar steering column-mounted tach that has been in every Mopar I have owned since high school...and it still works!

I bought those same panels from Roseville- front and rear, and the seat backs, so they match. Already ordered a couple cans of Herbs Paint. Well, at least all the trim pieces have nice base coat of white for Herbs Paint to go over. :-)

BTW, I know the four shoulder belt retainers are black on a white interior but the coat hanger should be white, right?
