Hey Mike,
Very nice work and your car looks beautiful! Now, with your EE degree and the appeal of this AAR, I believe should make your parents proud.  :congrats:

Ceramic Hydrophobic Coating is awesome & perfect on Black paint as you virtually never have to actually touch the car at all

Thanks for the input.  That's my goal - never actually the paint - I am paranoid about my black car.

I am thinking about this detail shop in Chicago:

They recommend this ceramic coating:

It's not a 100% cure for micro scratches you get when lightly dusting off the car, it's definitely going to help.  Black is suck a PITA, micro scratches that don't show on another color will always show on a black car.  One of my 71's are black, pretty tough to keep perfect.  I figured I might as well try ceramic coating it while the paint will be perfectly clean.

If you're considering coating a car, cleaning the finish properly is extremely important.  At that point, you might as well re-buff and polish the paint before ceramic coating it.

How about an original owner 67 Camaro, the father-in-law gave this to me years ago.  Was my wife's and her brothers high school car.  I've had it in my shop for years, put the charger box on it, healthy shot of brake clean in the carburetor and runs like a sewing machine.  The wife hasn't driven it in forever, manual steering/brakes 3 speed stick.  The motor has never been out of the car and runs like new.

I'm going to do an "Overhaulin" on this one in between customer cars this winter and present it to the wife this spring.  P/S, power disc brakes, 5.7 fuel injected and of course air conditioning.
