and an orange  318 4spd, that was already stripped, scoops gone,  on the way to the crusher. I bought the damaged fender,  header panel,  and hump from that car and fixed them.
@Mr Cuda       Would this be the car you are speaking of?

I had a chance to buy a set mid 1980's. I was buying an NOS trunk floor and the guy showed me the scoops and asked me if I was interested. I declined and thought he was smoking crack as I had never heard of them.

Seller was in Eastern Shore MD just over the bay bridge. His dad was a sheriff.

MD would be almost the other side of the world for me.  I'll look though.
Would love a set of NOS to reproduce some aluminum scoops.

From then it was several years before I saw another,  a red 318 4 spd  with rubber front bumper,  on a car lot for $2500!!!!. That was alot for a 318 car in 84'. I actually went and looked at it,  it was very nice.

@Mr Cuda  Would this be the car you speak of here?

#11. on the list.   https://forum.e-bodies.org/vin-fender-tag-build-sheet-and-date-codes/13/the-m46-list/16415/15

One being put together as a Cuda,  a 383-2  4 spd in purple

@Mr Cuda
I would assume the 4 speed was not original to the car since all L code BH's had D32 transmissions.

This just in....
One steel,  one aluminum.  I might even wash them and put a new picture on.  The are still dirty from taking them off 40 years ago.

@Mr Cuda
If you could put a picture of the two scoops up here, https://forum.e-bodies.org/body-shop/5/m46-scoop-details/16458/45 So that I can tie the two different scoops to the one vin on the list I sure would appreciate it.

Mr Cuda

Lost in time cars from when you could buy a project for $250. I know I did. Bought one barracuda for $50, and one was free.
The orange car that I referenced,  I took the hump, that one is still there.  That car got scrapped. Minor rust holes in qtr bottoms  would have made it "junk"

The purple one was definitely a factory 4 spd, the engine code I don't know, but it must have been a 4bbl, as it had 383 emblems . Putting in a 2bbl to keep it running would have been logical.

Red one, who knows,  no one logged vins.  The one here had magnums. Where has that one been? Someone must remember something about the previous owners.
By the mid eighties,  people were starting to care.

I know my car was one step from death,  I bought it and saved it. No one else would bother to fix it, and it took me a year to find parts.  Half a qtr,  and half a tail panel.  Reproductions  were years away.

The red one is in Washington.  Bought there and remains there.   As I understand.

Not many A21's, with D21's, and FE5  with G-E44's.   That is a very very similar resemblance.

A few things to post.

#1.  Alan Lemon's old car, 1.    BH23G0B103140    819  FY1 V1X X9  D31  MoparAl Alabama
Now looks like this.

Notice, even with the total modifications the fender tag is still intact.

Anyone recognize this car?

And this,

About #14 on the list,    BH23G0B166082

It's in Barry's dungeon of unclaimed build sheets.
As noted here on page 5, post 69 . Here, https://forum.e-bodies.org/cars-for-sale-or-wanted/8/wanted-1970-barracuda-with-m46-option/551/60

And first noted by me here on page 1.

And here, brought up on post number two of my free cuda items at hamtramck  historical.
https://www.forebodiesonly.com/forum/threads/free-barracuda-items-free.27016/

As far as I can tell, first time mentioned on the web, post #601330 on moparts here.
It's in Barry's file cabinet.
https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/601392/1.html

And mentioned once here back before Barry left CC.com

And a plug for Barry and the hamtramck historical website.

Didn't see this one on your list in reply 196. No fender tag pic. There is a breakdown given at the bottom.

This car was just added to the list.

Cool car!

Love the fj5.   Black vinyl with black interior goes great with the black out bottom, front and back.

Even better that the car is a D21 with the N41 turn down double tips dual exhaust.   Interesting that it does not have the N42 to go with the double tips.

Cool that it has an R22  8 track radio.
Console, buckets and painted side mirrors makes this car a really cool package.

Thanks a bunch for posting about this car.  I was told the fender tag was not on the car.
I see that is the case.   @ScoopsBob  Does the owner plan on replacing that fender tag onto the car?
I have to ask, is there any other paperwork that came with this car?
I've yet to see a window sticker and I only have one crumby picture of a build sheet.
Nor have I seen any ordering forms or purchase receipts for any M46.
Would love it if this car retains any of it's original documentation.

In any case,  Thanks a ton for letting me add this to my registry.   If the owner has any questions that are not answered in this thread of any of the other threads I have, please feel free to contact me.

I'm bumping this to get it out of the jungle of @MasonDaniel7  posts that are in the wrong section all around my post.

Put this back up to the top and see if anyone new will look at it and discuss.

@cuda hunter  Until I read your post's I never knew about the M46 option, I agree that this BOT posting in the wrong spot. I also don't care for the repeat post's. I do like seeing the cars, but not in multiple post's and in the wrong place.  :alan2cents:

@JS29  I'm glad you have had a chance to learn something about the hobby that most folks don't know about.  An obscure option.   That's the reason for the loooong post and if you search M46 you will see multiple posts that have more actual information about this unknown option.

The more people know what the M46 option is, the more they will be saved.  Cherry picked out of the barrel of bh barracuda's ya might say.
