@jimynick You're a great story teller Ian. You should write a blog.

To help someone out I took pictures of drivers side motor mount and K frame area.
74s have added uniqueness to them.
At least it is something...

I had some U-profiles made to make subframe connectors for my wife's Barracuda today. US CarTool style so it looks kinda stock. Just gotta cut them correct to match the floor shape. Question is, should I put them straight or slanted to match the end of the front subframe?

I think straight looks better and will perform the same. I'm planning on doing my own this winter. I just need to turn the car around on the lift first and then I can start making the contour templates.

What thickness material did you have yours made from?

soundcontrol

Straight is a bit easier to fit, I do like the slanted look though, to match the front frame....

I used 2,6mm material, which is 12 Gauge or 0,104".

I would go the easier route...Nobody is going to see it anyway....

You see it when car is on the lift. Looks more factory with both ends line up. Likely just shifting the contour pattern just slightly between sides.

True, but if build it right, it won't be on the lift...right Ken?  :pokeeye:

Well, my wife's car, she's got a heavy right foot...
What if she hits somebody and it's a Mopar guy and he lies there under the car, bloody and dying, the last thing he sees in this life
is a subframe connector not aligned to the frame.... :('

If he is a true nut and bolt OEM MOPAR guy, he may be more concerned that there is metal there that didn't come from Mother Mopar and the alignment is small potatoes... The solution may be better brakes or driving lessons.

US Car tools are angled.
My mind states they have to be aligned (angled) to marry the 2 frames.

Picked up the Hellcat from polish and ceramic coating. Looks great, hopefully it will last long and be easy to wash!

Yesterday is was pretty warm and the snow was melting 60 degs or so . I fired up the Challenger from her  3 1/2 month nap. Fired right up, scared the heck out of our new pup though ! LOL

Jacked up the Challenger to get the oil filter number, of course it was turned down. Noticed a bunch of tranny fluid on the pan and bolts. Need to do a bit more investigation but I think I'll be replacing two tranny pan gaskets. Gaa!
