Got the 440 lifted, loaded, and hauled to the machine shop. First time its been away from the car since birth. 64,000 miles, so I'm hoping they won't find much wrong. Hasn't ran since 2001 and he told me I'll be called by the end of November to come in and watch the start up and dyno. Things just got real.

Installed my Resto Rick automatic pistol grip shifter that I bought from @Marty
Took a little tweaking but ended up fitting  like a glove, works great and looks great IMO

Getting requested to go by the machine shop to take home the 440 parts I told them to not dare lose.

LOL!

I (a few days ago) attended a local show and had decent representation.

Defrost cable came in and I could install the heater box I have been working on (on and off for quite a while).   It's nice to have this project behind me

Finally had a little time to work on the Challenger.
Got grade 8 bolts and washers for the puller. Used a bottoming tap in the pulley holes to make sure
the bolts went in as far as possible. Lubed the bolts in case of breakage. Lubed the main screw. Put the
crank bolt in all the way till it bottomed out. Used a torch around the hub of the balancer and got it pretty hot.
Crow bar inbetween the bolts and resting on the K frame. 1/2 drive 18" breaker bar and socket.
It took all I had to pop it. I thought I broke something at first. It kept snapping each time I cranked the breaker bar.
But got it off! No damage to the crank or balancer.

Wow glad you finally got it. Heat can be your friend when used properly. Been there many times for work.
Yes seeing that it is an aftermarket piece I question its precision on the bore. Clean, de-rust and deburr everything proper. Test fit it to be sure it slides on smoothly. If not a slip fit by hand you should address that with opening its bore. If you have to wrench it on with big but something is wrong. Test preferably without the timing cover and seal influencing it. Look also to make sure it was not stuck because of locktite. I have seen usage of that because they were too loose.
Hope all is copacetic after cleaning.
