I bought one of my shaker bubbles for $250 at the Pate swap meet years ago.  Guy was not a mopar fan and just wanted to get rid of it, grills and doors still attached.  :bigthumb:

I guess my best finds were from one of my many trips to the Spring and Fall Flings out here in Van Nuys, SoCal. (1) was 2 plastic under dash trim for A/C cars one in a tan or beige and another in black both with map lights and switches for a real steal. (2) was an OEM SE rear finish trim panel for a cost that if I told you what I paid for it I'd have to kill you. I had it prof. restored, looks real nice now. I have 2 now one is on the car, did not get hardware.   Thanks, AL

I was restoring a 69 Hemi GTX quite a while ago. It was an AM 8trk car but missing the radio and finish plate. Found an NOS finish plate at the Seattle swap meet for around $85 I believe. I was humming and hawing about spending that much when my buddy Floyd asked me where I thought I was going to find another one.

In 1984, I was at the Corvette/Mopar show and swap at the Farminton polo grounds in CT. I was showing my 1st Mopar, a  TX9 '71 383 4sp. Brought along a rear spoiler for an '81  Corvette that a guy gave me. (Wife didn't like it on the car Lol.) Traded it equally for the Rim Blow wheel that I still have today in my '70.

Decent deals I'd say ???

I'd think the best deal out of the group would be: GTS door emblems, stainless 67/early 68 only wheel-lip set of four, and rocker spear... all for $80

First time at Carlisle I got a dash out of a 1970 Challenger R/T, totally complete with a really decent black dash pad, full set of rallye gauges, wiring harness, and all the other goodies for $375. Of course that was a long time ago. Back then it seemed like there was a full shaker hood setup for sale in every fourth or fifth spot.

Around the same time I was buying those super-expensive lower a/c dash trims in junkyards for $5. How times have changed!

More recently, maybe 2 or 3 years ago, I found a guy selling a '70 Challenger dash pad for $80. It had a few cracks but could have been used in a driver. Best thing about it, the a/c dash vents still in the pad. I bought it, took the vents out, and walked the pad down to Ultimate rides and got $60 back for the core. So the vents basically cost me $20. To get a set off ebay would easily cost $150 - $300 or more.

In the early 90's we'd go to the Seattle spring meet with empty trucks because we knew we'd be buying all we could find. It seemed $20-$25 dollar per rust free body panel was the going rate. Those were the best times I had in the hobby I think.

Id say late 70's through the mid 90's was al a good time to play with these old cars... I still like to play, it's just gotten to expensive...

My best was E body rallye cluster, this was about 15 years ago.  We were checking everything out, Tom had walked on ahead, and I saw it sitting in the trailer, they had not unloaded it.  Called Tom back my way, asked the seller how much, $75.  I could not even haggle.  And we still have it.

Every time I think the swap meet scene is dying, we hit one that renews my faith that good stuff is still out there.

Do you find better deals at Mopar Swap meets or general car swap meets?

It seems like the Mopar only swap meets have lots of good stuff and you can find some good deals, but it my best deals I find are the general Car Swap meets where a Ford or Chevy guy has a Mopar part that he just wants to get rid of.  They will almost give it away to get it out of their sight.    8)

Less these days than twenty years ago... Now it's commonly accepted if you own a Mopar you have money...   I wish it were true....

Probably more correctly stated would be....If you own a Mopar you had money.
