So my plans have changed for the engine build that we were doing. We were originally going to do a 512 stroker but since the machine shop went 60 over, we nixed the stroker plan. it'll be a 440 with a roller cam and stealth aluminum heads. I still want good vac for power brakes and have it run on pump gas. It will be a street car that will see no track time.  Now we are trying to pick out a cam for the project but have a few questions.

How do we keep quench at .040-0.60 without the compression ratio rising above 10:1?

If we start with 10:1 static compression, we need a cam with a closing intake around 62 ABDC in order to get the dynamic compression down to 8:1. That we means we are forced to use a hotter cam.

Will aluminum heads allow us to have a dynamic compression of 9:1?

One of the cams we are looking at is Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller Retrofit Cam - 230/236 - 541/537.

What do you guys think?
